Maybe i should stop wearing a helmet to bring more challenge

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 11:30 pm

If i wear full armor its rating goes to 657, i am simply too powerfull then! :pinch: But if i don't wear a helmet it is 347...still quite alot but atleast there is more challenge.
What do you think?

Wow, That's a big percentage.

But if you play hatless you get the added bonus of being able to see your beautiful face.

I wear daedric armor and i am lvl 92 with heavy armor...it became a bit...too powerfull :P
But the armor fits my character so well that i did not want to put it off. But not wearing a helmet seems reasonable.

Well by that point a helmet won't change much.

I will test it out in a quest that needs lots and lots of fighting, and probably put the difficulty somewhat higher too.

Well, i am not going for max stats. This character just fought alot and alot, i took quite alot of damage resulting in a high lvl with armor. (and the fact that i have a trainer... not going to do that again :P)
My main difficulty is adept (im a normal type of guy)...but i will raise it to master if it still gets to easy.

After around level 50 enemies stop scaling with you so obviously, things are going to get easier.

... until extra endgame mods and DLC of course.

I do hope that they will do more with the lvl scaling in the DLC, no doubt that i will buy it...but i do hope that ''challenge'' i am seeking is in there.

Well obviously reducing your armor makes it somewhat more challenging. Of course that also depends on the rest of your gear. What weapons you have also has a big impact. If you back off to a non-smithed, non-enchanted weapon that can also make it more challenging. There are certainly ways to do it if you really want to. Unfortunately it does have to be by choice as the game is not going to scale in any way at this point to make it more difficult or challenging.

You wanna challenge? Run around Skyrim naked and use fists only to fight!

Okay i fought a bit this way on adept level.
I can kill simple bandits with two hits, but a group or strong creature can become overwhelming.
This seems realistic enough for my character, heroic and above average in skill...but not godly...that is how i wanted it :D

Never worn a helmet, never will. I just don't like them. If that means getting my ass handed to me every now and again...well...I'll just reload until I win.

Now there is only one problem, a ruby circlet.
This fits my character beautifully because of the rp and the armor :D
But i never seem to find a unenchanted ruby circlet.

This character looks way better without the helmet now, and the game is more balanced (enough balanced for me atleast, if i want more challenge later i will just put up the difficulty).

i wear a helmet and don't think about it at all.

Check the clothing store in Solitude periodically.
And it might be just one of those random things, but-
Spoiler
I am currently in Blackreach and in the ruins on the way down I found 5 unenchanted circlets of various materials (I am level 35).

LoL, a single piece of armor could make that big of a difference.

he was making the assumption that high level gear is only used by powergamers who want to max their stats.

he is incorrect.
