Thanks for taking the time to answer these; very interesting, and quite a unique opportunity!! :)

Anyways, had another one. One thing I give gaming a lot of credit for is being one of the few mediums in modern media that I think (in some cases) really encourages the audience to think about various issues-- ethical, political, ect.-- quite deeply and in less conventional ways. Most other forms seem to play things safe and conventional, but games (mainly RPG's) seem to step outside the box a lot more. First and foremost you are, of course, providing entertainment to earn your living, but beyond that, do you have other goals with regards to influencing your audience in a certain way, or perhaps wanting them to see things from a different perspective? Besides providing that entertainment, do you perhaps wish to write things in such a way as to maybe bring about a change in how your audience thinks about real world issues and makes real life decisions? Or do you just write and develop what you think will be the most interesting? To be honest, I think game developers may perhaps have more of an impact on the way a good part of the younger generation that is into gaming thinks about such issues than any political figure, party, celeb, ect.; just by reading posts on many gaming boards, this seems to stick out to me.

To go over some of the favorites that I've seen (other than movies since I've covered that one)

Music: It goes everywhere from 1930s jazz, blues, and swing to hip-hop, electro, J-rock, European Rock, etc....
Book: Slaughterhouse V takes my favorite book. I'm currently going through the Percy Jackson books because I'll never grow up.
Comics: Anything Batman and that could potential tie-in to a Batman story line. Y: The Last Man. The Walking Dead.
Multiplayer: Currently it's pretty much Modern Warfare 2 (even though I haven't been on since winter break -_-)
Animation: Anime - Three way tie: Trigun/GTO/Beck. American cartoons: Justice League Unlimited (The last two episodes of season one are still some of the best animated television I have ever seen).
Movie of '09: Star Trek. I loved the sound design and I'm pretty sure I went to see it six times or so.
Pancakes or Waffles: We often do waffle mimosa nights before seeing a midnight showing of a film at my place, so I'm going with waffles.

Hi, everyone!

It's been a little while since I last posted here - great to be back. The kind staff at BSW have changed my old alias here (Sotobrastos) to a brand spanking new "Jorge Salgado." In any case, for you old-timers, "Soto," "Oscuro," "Crazy Monkey," etc, still apply. So please feel free to use any of my old handles... okay, not all of the appellatives should do - just the kind ones until I screw up something new ;)

I'd like to say that it's like a dream come true to work with two of my favorite game developer companies, ever. This game's going to make us all proud and I can't wait for all of you to enjoy playing it as much as we are enjoying its making. For those that might wonder, I'm focusing on Game Design development for F:NV.

Hey Obsidian people, go bug Jorge Salgado to dust off his account here. :P

Hehehe, what's up, man! :)

It's awesome to see you here Madcat - long time no see, uh? Well, you know me... I get absorbed easily and have been out of touch for a while. That's changing though.
Btw, great work, bro. You know I appreciate it a ton.

We'll soon catch up on stuff, Madcat, but let's do so elsewhere because this is a thread for meeting the F:NV folks, after all.

Cheers, everyone!

I have to say one thing, a Heck of alot more devs from Obsidian have showed-up and are posting here than Ever chimed-in form the Beth team - this is very much appreciated! :)

Here's your chance to ask questions to the team working on Fallout New Vegas

This thread is not a place for learning specifics about the game -- there will be on info on that soon enough -- but a meet and greet of sorts, similar to what we had with http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1000694.

did you people take it personally wen i once said ''obsidian? dont you mean oblivion?'' ?
i was only joking you know... :embarrass:

What's the first song on your playlist?

Edit: I'm delighted to hear that Oscuro is on the team. New Vegas is definitely going to be balanced, considering all the balancing you did for all Bethesda's games!

French toast. I will always be amused by this one, I think

Another question, since we're still in the favorites : food that you enjoy, and do you have anything "special" you do in your spare time?

Hello Devs!

Two questions for you.

1. How does it feel to be behind such games as KOTOR 2 and Never Winter Nights 2? (Haven't played then but the reviews are good.)

and?

2. Are you liking all your delicious fishy sticks, if so, do you like then with tartar sauce or ketchup?
