No companies care about the needs of the people. It's simply that it's more profitable to pretend to care about the needs of the people. Microsoft doesn't care about you or I. They'd kill us in a second if it meant no repercussions and gaining thousands of dollars.

It's all about image. Microsoft paid money to let Dawnguard come out on XBOX first because it makes them look good. It also has a chance of making money. A 30 day exclusive means people who have Skyrim on both PC and XBOX will be inclined to buy the game twice, making Microsoft more likely to make money.

A 30 day exclusive also means 30 extra days to make a butt load of money.

Microsoft beat the ps3 to shelves by a year which gave it a huge boost in the marketshare and thus leverage and stuff like DLC content. If the PS4 can beat the 720 to shelves then Sony can dominate the next-gen.
The same applies to the xbox Microsoft loses money on each console sold. Its the online content thats making money for companies.

It's because they haven't figured out how to charge pc for Internet access. You all have paid about 1000 for your xboxes and since it only cost about 100 to make.. They have alot of cash laying around.
