mirrak's secret shout

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 11:26 am

it's just a common thing around here wikis can be edited by anyone ad made false and even false things posted on there, even happens on UESP but the UESP is heavilly moderated monitered and updated more or less daily to avoid mistakes like that

This. Point made.

Using the prima guide:
Zii- spirit
Los-is
dii-mine/my
Dul (doesn't exist, closest being Du- Devour)

The shout still doesn't spell out properly. Wonder if one of the dev's would be kind enough to give us the proper definition.
Unless its something like "(Your/name) Spirit is mine (to) devour)" which in terms of the power, would be accurate.

that seems the most logical term of it, but like you said geting some info from the devs would go a long way in helping explain it.

just had a thought maybe and this is a rather large leap it's an extension of the bend will shout commanding the dragon to die so you can devour his soul like you would to a thrall thus making it not so much a shout but a command to the dragon

Of course it is cool but i would never want in-game. It would take the fun out of killing dragons and just wouldnt be satisfying.

if it was in the game like all shouts it would be optional to use, and I have a feeling If added you would have to pay a heavy price to a certain deadric prince I knowledge to obtain it

Not to mention it clearly would work only on certain dragon types (i.e. weaker variants) or alternatively would be a new 'kill' cam where you thu'um them down and eat their soul.

Does it say Ziil Los Dii Du! Instead of "Dul"?

that's the current theory as Dul doesn't exist in the dragon language however Du means devour which fits more with the effect of the shout providing it is a shout and not a command to an already thralled dragon as I have think it is (won't know unless by some miracle we get a devs take on it)

I'm honestly thinking its almost a conjugation thing, similar to spanish/french/latin.

On certain words you add different suffixes etc. What little I could find on the UESP or the full prima guide didn't explain the 'L' added though.

I did a quick repeat on a save of the final battle to listen to him say it, the subtitles clearly spell 'DUL' however the 'L' is completely silent, which kind of, reinforces the conjugation point.

thats a good point, I didn't think about that. perhaps your right and he using it in the possessive sense as in I will devour like how when referring to your father you would say Bormahu instead of Bormah.

we desperately need some kind of text from the devs explaining clearly what the conjugations are and how and when they should be properly used, could clear up this whole thing and alot of others

reminds me of the inheritance cycle where if you found out someone's true name you would have power over them.

The power of names is soooooooo much older than Eragon.

Give it the same recast as the third word of Storm call and you can throw the 'over-powered' thing out the window. It'd be perfectly viable.

Mirrak's new shout was fascinating to me because when he used that shout he killed the dragons right were thay stand to me that was a cool shout so I did some research to find out what this shout means first he said the dragons name then he said ziil los dii dul which in dragon means Spirit,Sworn,Undead what do you guys think about this here's the link to the http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Alphabet http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_language

I think it's like an even more powerful bend will shout, like how parthuurnax meditated on the words so he could understand them better, Miraak probably researched the words in Apocrypra. Having so much command over them that he can will them to die

logical. it could be that while in apocrypha he discovered that adding a fourth word to a shout amplifies it even more

On a similar note, the shout itself could be 'unique'. Such is the case of Dragonrend where as only mortals/joor could use it, dragons couldn't comprehend the nature of it. This could be a step further then that, being a shout unique and only usable by Dragonborn, hence the four words used.

that is good thinking and a good point I like it

bit anticlimactic lol.

actually that sounds similar to what the dragons say atop the throat of the world (anyone remember why exactly they say or no)

I can't help but wonder what we're going to see in future DLCs. We have the semi-main antagonist of the DB DLC being the first Dragonborn (arguably the strongest pre-end battle)
having 'crafted' a shout using 4 words of power. IMO, the 4th word added would be like a magnifying glass for the other 3 words, essentially boosting power in this case out right devouring both soul and lifeforce (to heal).

What is this going to do for the lore? The lore stated quite clearly that shouts come with 3 words of power, each granting a stronger shout when added.

Will future DLCs add more 4 word shouts? Will we get a description of them? How are they 'crafted'?

These questions are very important due to the fact that new shouts can be made, even by mortals.

Upon completion of both the Skyrim MQ and DB MQ you(the PC, dovahkiin) are now the strongest voice, the most powerful. What does the future bring? What GREATER power could we unlock/obtain but the ability to make NEW shouts or add FOURTH words to our existing ones? What would be the price? What would we have to sacrifice?

I'm hungry for more.

wonder if that's how mora got miraak.

it is a good point it this fourth word realisation opens up so many questions and whether or not they elaborate on this is only
something we can hope for and lets not
forget the lore wouldn't be much problem
as dragonborn in the skyrim pc sense hasn't got much lore behind it and miraak is en exceptional dragonborn in any sense so who knows what we could have learned from him or
even what else he knew, seen as he was also a
dragon priest so he would have had intimate knowledge of the language.
