A modest proposal...

Um, I actually like this (fyi only read first paragraph..). Here is an idea, as only a nord can you do the main quest :D. Gives incentive to play as one and not to play as one at the same time. Say I don't want to be bothered by the dragon born BS I could play any other character.

Just a poorly developed thought. :P

agreed.
I dont care how racist the Nords may be,thats no reason to keep other races from the game.
I could insert an illegal immigrant joke here, but that would just be in bad taste.
You get the picture.
I think its sad to see how few argonians and especially Khajiit there are.
I couldnt even have my female character marry to a fuzzy Khajiit fellow, cause there are none to.

It's a huge ask for a game that is so shallow in all of it's game play features and tries to use it as freedom of who your character is by not having set histories like other leads in RPG's.

Not sure if I understand this part..

It should be far more complex, with features and limitations being present depending on the race you choose to play. In-game NPC's should react much more differently, certain factions should require more from some players and less from others (Oh, you're an Imperial? I'm sure Ulfric would absolutely love to have you on his side! /roll eyes), etc.. The idea of having strongholds and camps is nice, but I'd rather the NPC's open up a bit more if you're of the same species and more likely to shun you if you're not. The whole idea that every character should be able to do everything is completely absurd. That's just not how things work in TES lore, so why have everyone hold your hand in the game? Different dialogue is nice, but there should be far more too it than that.

Though that's a little much for DLC, so something like what you described would certainly be nice (and hopefully serve as a precursor to possible features in the next TES game).

I wouldn't mind being able to join a Khajiit caravan if I'm a Khajiit (which I am).

Also...why not ashlanders? They are so awesome! Since Vvanderfell blew up i guess they would migrate somewhere else, and some ashlander settlements in skyrim would be cool, kind of like the orc strongholds.

Nah, it wouldn't feel right. I mean each race having it's own stronghold? Eh...

Not all of them, but some nomadic races like Bosmer fugitives who don't aprove the Thalmor and ashlanders would be right.

Not strongholds per se, just a small group.

this is a good idea but i would rather just have people react more to your chosen race in general than the "race clans" you are suggesting
for example, khajit arent allowed into towns-except you are even before they know you are the dragonborn--also people should just recognize your race more in general-if you play as an altmer people might be suprised that you are the dragonborn or even taking it to another level ask you to join the Thalmor-but really mostly just some recognition of your race would be good

I would really like something like this to be in the game. Khajiits should be treated like the merchants that aren't allowed within walled cities. Dunmer and Argonian players may be well-received in Riften, but should have a hard time in Windhelm due to the xenophobic nature of some of the Nords there. Altmer should be able to masquerade as Thalmor while Orcs should have little trouble entering Orc strongholds. This would definitely immerse the players more deeply into Skyrim, especially since the racial attributes don't matter as much as they did in Oblivion. Not only would this make your choice of race much more significant, but it would also vastly increase replayability since playing as each of the 10 races would give you a completely new experience.

I think it's a great idea for each race to have it's own stronghold. I play as an Altmer, and because they love magic there could be unique spells and potions available at the Altmer stronghold. Maybe each stronghold could also have unique lore books on their shelves that pertain to that race.

Cheetos, lol. It would have been fine to have "race-based" special quests, but you don't get any as a Nord so I'm not sure why there's an idea that they should be there. That I have found, you don't get any quests from orc strongholds as an orc that you wouldn't as another character- in fact you have an extra one to prove you're worthy of bloodkin. Or have I missed something? My orc is only level 30.

There is one race-based thing I know of. If you're an Altmer in hooded Thalmor robes you get extra dialog options at the Thalmor embassy.
