I did not like killing Vittoria Vici at her own wedding for the DB. That is just seriously wrong.

Killing Nilsine Shatter-Shield was pretty wrong too.

You do realize this is make believe right? It's only a video game. No different from any other game. These days just about every game is about killing or something violent.
If I have to kill something in a game to get something cool, so be it. Why feel guilty over something that isn't real? Or why buy a game that your going to skip half the quests in because of your conscience?
And besides, if you start a new game, all those people or animals you felt bad about killing are alive again! lol

Wait, I didn't ACTUALLY kill anyone?

What a relief. Thank you for clearing that up.

Just found something that got me right to the core. Playing as an assassin I just found
Spoiler
Tova Shatter-Shield had committed suicide in her home after I assassinated her daughter for the Dark Brotherhood
! Ouch. I need to go home and think about that...

And then I bought the house next door. But seriously, I was just the weapon, Muiri was the killer. Maybe in Sonja's old age, like Paarthurnax, she'll decide she's brought enough pain and suffering into the world that she wants to put some good and happiness back into it before she dies.

Let's see what other things... Yes, killing Tullius after he surrendered and crawling on the floor was kind of low. But then did he show me any mercy in Helgen? No.

Killing the cook in the Thalmor Embassy to get the idiot wood elf to move out of my way so I could get on with the quest was pretty low, although her relative tried to kill me later.

Sitting around watching your followers kill everything? Sorry OP, but that sounds like an extremely boring way to play.

During the quest you need to intimidate innkeeper in Riften, you essentially threaten to kill her family. I even tried to make it up by helping her boyfriend, still no joy...
Yeah, I chose to beat her up, because that sounded better and a bit more honorable than threatening to kill her family. :/ But since having fulfilled the quest for their marriage rings, her 'husband' always remarks "Ours is to smile at your passing, friend" followed by his hostile line everytime I pass him by. The poor gust must suffer from multiple personality disorder. O_o

I felt a little badly about the shakedowns for the TG and the first round of assassinations to get to the main DB questline. I killed those NPCs as quickly as I could before they said something pitiful and made me feel worse. I justified it by telling myself: they must've done something bad enough at at least one point in their lives. FWIW I didn't do any of the other DB members assassinations. I will do the Dark Brotherhood Forever quests though. :P

The Argonians don't say nasty things to me anymore and Honeyhand never did. I think Haelga still mutters "You again." or something like that, but that could also be because of the other quest against her. :P

...I ended up going back to Irkngthand to return the gems.
How did you get back in? I don't remember where that back door cave is. :o

Sweet, thanks. Found it on my map. I wanted to go back in and look around now that I have a Waterbreathing enchanted head piece. :P FWIW I'm not gonna' return the Eye of the Falmer (already sold one to Delvin) - I didn't steal them I just 'inherited' them by default.

Erandur was the only kill I felt bad about. I didn't like killing the Emperor, he kinda seemed cool. Everyone else can svck it

I felt a little badly about the shakedowns for the TG...

I'd say that part too. The rest I was kinda numbed by all of the guilds having internal conflicts and everyone having their own motivation rather than trying to better the group.

yeah the shakedowns for the Initial TG entry were the only things i can think of off hand that made me feel like a jerk. I helped the Argonian get his ring sorted, then threaten his wife... what a day.

^ This. I'd RP later in the game that I did what I did so I could infiltrate the T's guild so I could destroy them. I also left gold behind their counters. I also got the owner of the Pawned Prawn new Dwemer artifacts. Kinda crowded in their now.

This. I had a character start this line and gave up after intimidating the innkeeper and the shopkeeper. I erased the character.

Killing an old lady to save some homeless kids.

Intimidating npcs for money in order to get into the Thieves Guild.

It's really too bad you can't start your own guild.

I wouldn't have killed her.
You'd be suprised how fast you get all the blood samples without even trying. I had them all within a day of playing without even trying. Bandit camps and dungeons always have all different races.

The only thing that made me feel bad was killing Barbas for the Rueful Axe. I didn't want to do it but I really wanted that axe over the masque. Turns out it was a big mistake seeing the axe isn't counted as a deadric artifact which keeps you from obtaining the Oblivion Walker trophy.
That bosmer is a pain to find though  Without murder anyway.

Orcs worship Malacath. Unless they're random orcs or specific ones, worshiping someone else.

Oh, huh. Whoops. Looking at the Molag Bal lore, I'm a bit more torn. On one hand, he svcks. On the other other hand, his primary enemy svcks just as bad.

In any case, I never used the mace- just gave it to Erandur (my follower at the time). I figure he knows what to do with evil daedric artifacts.

I only feel bad whenever I kill one of my followers by accident - i.e. an accidental swipe of the ebony sword or too much lightning in the wrong place. Otherwise, I don't do quests I don't want to.

Oh god, don't remind me. 80% of the way through the capture of Windhelm, I accidentally DECAPITATED one of the mob of soldiers they send with you. Total mistake (I think my original target got killed just before I finished a power attack), but it resulted in the full on head-rolling animation and all.

Obviously, the entire squad turned on me and damn near killed me. I had to whip out a pacification scroll while backed into a corner, and even that wasn't enough to stop the (higher level) squad leader from attacking me.
I ran for the palace with this angry squad leader chasing me the whole way. Fortunately he stayed outside when I went in, and finishing the quest reset his attitude.

Totally FUBAR.

And this is why I now only take companions who have long range attacks that they prefer to hang back and use.

A month ago, I accidentally used my Storm Call shout on the Throat of the World. The lightning was hitting Paarthurnax, and he just ran out of health, flew up, landed on his little rock and regenerated. A week ago I quicksaved and just pecked him with some arrows. He died. I reloaded the save and vowed never to do that again. Even though I reloaded the save, I still felt like a jerk.
