Really? I just noticed this: Fallout: New Vegas comes out in Fall. Fall Fallout. Am I the only one who's noticed this?

I actually noticed that back before Fallout 3 came out and had a similar release date.

Just because it comes out in the Fall doesn't mean all the devs got together and went "OH MAH GOD GUYS! WE SHOULD DROP THE GAME IN THE FALL! FALLOUT STARTS WITH IT!" It's just pure coincidence. I mean they could have, but I REALLY doubt it.

The FO3 team had aimed for an OCT.23 release, which is the day the Great War started in 2077.

Fall/Fallout....
I don't think that's a pun at all.... Coincidence, but not a pun.

Who do these people think they are? I remember when Neverwinter Nights came out in the Winter and I was all like... "C'mon" and junk. They think they are so clever releasing stuff at certain times of the year.

Well, the fans wanted it released in the spring and the devs wanted to wait until the winter. They had a falling out so the spotted owl stepped in and forced a settlement in the fall.

Probably just coincidence. I doubt anyone has actually thought much of it other than conspiracy nuts wearing tin foil hats. It's not even that surprising considering that there's a one in four chance that it would come out that way.

Indeed, after all, there's only four seasons in a year, so it isn't really that hard to just happen to release your game with "Fall" in its name in the season of "Fall". I'm sure that when they choose when to release the game, they're more concerned with what release date would be most profitable (The kind of mentality that leads companies to rush their game to be released by say... Christmas.) or when they can actually finish it than a stupid pun.

Yeah, I bet when they were planning Operation Market Garden, they were thinking, "We have to end the war before Christmas so Hitler will FALL in Fall lol". Don't look too far into it or you'll go insane.

Considering it comes out in the spring in the southern hemisphere, conspiracy debunked.

You still sound like a jerk if you say jerky things, even if you say beforehand you don't want to sound like one. :P

Kinda like people who add "IMO" to every end of a sentence in an attempt to avoid being flamed. If you say it, it's obviously your opinion... o.O

Also there is the fact that most of the world doesn't use the term Fall to describe Autumn.

Autumn. Fallout. Not seeing the connection. Well, besides Colonel Autumn
Spoiler
but by all accounts he died in 2277, three years before Fallout: New Vegas. Even if the PC didn't kill him, the Brotherhood wouldn't let him escape.

Also: there's only 4 possible seasons in which a game could come out. Two of those could have a reference to the fallout series - Fall and (nuclear) Winter. So yea, not even really much of a coincidence.

Well, you could be farfetched and say that New Vegas will be hot and sunny, just like it usually is in the summer, and that spring is a nice time to visit this city. :)
