so, 6 months in and still no news on expansions......

Return to Solstheim!

I would love this. Or at least a reference to it.

Anyway I believe they said there's news of some type coming up this very month. What else would it be but DLC?

Fallout 4 Announcement, obviously.

had to reply to this right quick. They said they would be giving this game more attention than all previous titles, so have faith.

Faith in what? That Bethesda will make incompetent business decisions?

The rational decision here is not to waste resources working on something that does not generate profit. Bethesda has been experts at this, that is why they are alive as a company. That is why Skyrim is such a huge success. Instead of creating a game that their small (but passionate) hardcoe audience would love, they have made a game that is designed from the ground up to generate profit and appeal to the masses.

Here's the thing.

Obviously the DLC is for skyrim. They're developing it, but they also have to go to E3.

At E3, they'll most likely announce 1 of 2 things.

1. Skyrim DLC release date

OR

2. Fallout 4

and to be clear, if they add Morrowind, its' miniature provinces, and/or Cyrodiil, then it will likely be above a 2GB download, depending on the renderring or compressing they do with the DLC. Hypothetically.. if you have low bandwidth, you'll be sittin in your chair for HOURS.

I wish people would calm down about this. We live in a generation where a game cannot come out without announcing a DLC within a few months.

Remember the time where Expansions where treated like an extra gift from the developers? It always came as a surprize and made the anticipation even better.

But seriously, Bethesde just went through 4-5 years developing a game, dont you thing they need a little time to breath?

Just let it download over night, I m pretty sure this is possible on all systems , the 360, just turn it off, and enable background downloads.

6 months is not a few months, thats half a year. And like I said , looking for news, not the actual expansion. And why tell me to calm down, the last time I asked this was, I dunno when actually. A simple trailer or teaser would suffice. Even a few sentences.

Knights of the nine was still cool
But i do prefer bigger Expansions, like Bloodmoon and shivering isles, loved tribunal too.
Yes but it felt like something it could have been included in Oblivion right from the start... no new lands, few extra meshes for the armor and stuff, no new locations. If felt something a talented modder can do in one month work, not a true expansion.

Sorry if I offended you, but I mean people in general need to calm down.

I remember when you bought a game and playd it for weeks or even months without ever thinking of DLC's. Then all of sudden out of the blue air came the expansion and made the game even better. The developers put more deph into expansions back then, because they werent pushed by the audience.

Nowdays DLC's are either locked on dics or else they are rushed because of the gamers needs.

I agree that gaming companies need to take their rtime now a days, deadlines can ruin certain aspects of games, :: cough :: mass effect 3 ending :: cough :: I just like to know whats going on, im very curious by nature.

Oh my god, Bethesda admin commenting in the forum! :o

Take your time with the DLC, we are all willing to be patient, and we hope you can deliver us some good content. Thanks very much!

*I'm hoping most of the community agrees with that.. :l

Not if they go all Shivering Isles on us and release it in it's own box.

I'm not getting my hopes up though, as the thought of province expansions would mean that whatever it is wouldn't live up to my own hype.

More choices are better. So online and disc would be fine.

No. That would svck. We need to move in the opposite direction and go to Hammerfell for a little while or something. Although I completely object to making either that province or High Rock the focus of the next game in the TES series, a little DLC over there would be a nice change.

Okay the teasing is getting a bit much, give or info please or be quiet

Now as for the 6 months, I am not reall concerned about how long it has been. Skyrim is such a huge game that it can take most of this time to explore it so there was no need to rush out content extras to keep interest.

The more I think about that the more I like it, the whole pine forest and castles theme is a little cliched for a whole game, but as a DLC/Expansion pack it would be great.

If this speculation keeps up the pants really are coming off!

Trouble is, the exact same thing has already been done for Morrowind. What's the point of doing it again?

I meant High Rock, not Solstheim.

Todd has said he'd like to make some of the places in Daggerfall match the concepts with an engine that can handle it.
