No more free arrows

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 4:55 am

I have said it before I will say it again, many people enjoy exploits and that is fine but for some reason they feel they should come to Bethesda's Official forums while the game is still being actively patched no less and post about them over and over again. it doesn't surprise me when the disappear.

Edit: this applies to way more than just this arrow exploit.

they would be at early levels

rarely get any at early levels - unless you knew about this exploit and the Fletcher and then took the 'bus' to Solitude. I didn't get any until I already had a good supply of Ebony arrows - which only do 2 less damage if I remember right

Still working for me. It was never much an exploit, though, just a few extra here and there.

this way, assuming using a non heavy armor char, you should perk all the way up to daedric just to craft daedric arrows, kinda unbalanced don't you think?
it would be a waste of perks for non-smithing builds

That is no more unbalanced than having to wait until you have 100 smithing skill in order to make any other deadric items.

But, when you think about it, a less smith should not be able to make deadric arrows until he/she becomes more experienced. Deadric items need daedra hearts.

"I can only tell you tales of how to make Daedric armor. I have never seen it myself, nor do I know anyone that has. The stories say that it should always be worked on at night... ideally under a new or full moon, and never during an eclipse. A red harvest moon is best. Ebony is the principle material, but at the right moment a daedra heart must be thrown into the fire."

You can still buy them from fletchers. I don't see the big deal, given how dirt-cheap money is in this game.

You can't buy enough. Hence why I mentioned the mod above.

You have a bullet that can kill any living thing. This bullet is in a game.

Now common sense says this would be limited in supply.

Of all the things they could've fixed....
IKR, with everything so busted up they worry about the little stuff that doesn't break quests, but gives players an edge.
Ooh! My bad! How about Blood on The Ice, got any plans for stuff like that one?

then you can make overpowered daedric arrows since the beginning?? even worse!

No. Well.. yes if you have the materials needed for daedric arrows in the beginning. Simple solution: make the mats hard to get.

You have a variety of weapons that can kill anything in one hit when properly made. These weapons are in the game.

But if you slap on an extra 4 damage to that 3000+ damage, the game is auto-ruined and combat is dead. Derp

Fixed.

The 3x sneak attack difference between Daedric and Ancient Nordic is only 42 points. That's small change when the bows base damage alone (before the arrow) is going to be topping 300+ on a developed character on a sneak attack with ease.

The release note said nothing about "fixing" this, and as far as I know there were no complaints about it in the first place.

it might have been an unintetional "fix" and i hope it was because there are way much worse bugs.

Apparently the 1.4 patch has "fixed" the exploit, where if you give a follower one good arrow, they will never use it up. Jenassa has just gone through about 60 Daedric without my noticing, since I started playing today. Boo-hoo. Furthermore, she also used up her unending supply of 15 cheepies and I only noticed when she started hand-to-hand with a mudcrab.
Hmm, I'm not so sure. I've equipped Lydia with *one* ebony arrow and after a number of dungeon crawls, battles including one dragon she still has it in her inventory.

Arrow generation is still working for me after the latest patch as well. Joris is generating daedric arrows as usual.

Who cares? If you want to do that, then do it, but if you don't want to do that, then don't. Don't tell people how to play their own game.

They should add arrow crafting into the game, and should unlock with each perk in smithing you get... So Daedric = can make Daedric arrows ect.

doesn't have to be perk based.

then you can make overpowered daedric arrows since the beginning?? even worse!

It could be a level based deal, where you can make Iron arrows up to level 10 or so, then Steel to level 15, then orkish, then dwemer, and so on. That could work. Then with your perks for smithing builds you could make those arrows better once you reach the right level, even get to make arrows earlier in the game if you added the perk for that type of metal (or glass) before you reached the specific level requirement. Something like that I'm sure could work.

Folks,

They are the best arrows in the game. Don't you think it would a bit more balanced if you didn't have an unending supply? Seriously, why spend time in game managing an exploit when you can buy enough ebony arrows to kill everything in the game almost as fast.

Worry about something else.

How about instead of "fixing" minor issues like this, they fix the multitude of broken quests?

Oh yeah? Try them on a Draugr Deathlord. You won't be one hitting them with Nord arrows. Unless you exploit the smithing and make a rediculous bow that does insane amounts of damage.

I think the materials for making Daedric arrow wouldn't make it worth it. 1 Wood + 1 Ebony Ingot + Hawk Feathers + Daedra Heart = 10 Daedric Arrows.

You couldn't make too many at that rate. Unlike other weapons arrows would need to be non-upgradable, so they would be more like making jewelry.

This is very doable for those that want it. I'm sure it will be modded in sooner or later.
