Most dissapointing quest rewards?

Too many to remember. In fact, I happen to remeber those few quests whose reward was truly appropriate and memorable

The end. You get nothing, not a peanut. No recognition of your deeds. ZIP! You get treated as if you never did anything at all. :stare:

EDIT: Change that. Come to think of it that's pretty realistic. Reminds me of being at work!

You get Call Of Valor, but Call of Valor kind of svcks.

Especially if you've finished the game and most of the quests. Oh well, maybe it'll be different with the PC version, where you can make up your own stuff to do with the mods.

Most of the quest rewards I found disapointing.

I know it might not be what everyone would want, but I would love a Unique reward like statues of the Divines and/or Deadric princes. Collect them all or sell them for a VERY good price. ( of course then we would need shelves that are very useable to put them on) Very unique armor that would be hard to make yourself, same with weapons. The more involed/long/hard the quest the better the reward.

It does bother me that a reward for killing a group of bandits at lvl 10 reaps a better reward that killing a Deathlord at lvl 30. An ancient Nord Sword of Ice/frost...really?

All of them, except maybe Speelbreaker, and the quests which give training. Seriously, I never do a quest for the reward except that first one. I think the problem is that the devs didn't want quest rewards to be overpowered for low-level characters, and had enough of the complaints about levelled rewards, so they toned down the reward items. The result is that they really aren't much use. Don't get me wrong: I like doing quests, but I don't do them for the reward.

Easy to say if you are loaded with coin and gear. Hell, even you have probably stumbled across a unique item that looked great but failed to perform.

Most money I've ever had was nine thousand and something, I wear Adept Robes, and use magic. Never had a need for any weapons, I carry an orcish dagger only because I'm an Orc. I enjoy exploring, roleplaying and reading the in-game books. I do quests for the story, characters and the excuse to explore more. So, I feel quite confident when I say I don't care about rewards.

Oh man, no kidding. +30 to each of the 3 base attributes? Casters don't give a rip about 30 to stam, and most non-mages usually don't give a rip about +30 to magicka... so yeah. You only get 60 points towards two stats you may care about. So, you barely beat a +50 necklace to one stat, and there's no way I'm going to wear Gualder's when I can instead wear a necklace that greatly boosts archery or melee damage, instead. Or magicka regen. Or whathaveyou. If it had given +50 to each attribute, it would have been worthy. Or at least +40....

The steward of Whiterun gave me the smallest amount of gold EVER for retrieving his daughter's sword.

Spoiler
Assassinating the Emperor nets you 20,000 gold...19,000 of which you must spend to upgrade your keep

"I've killed the giant at Whatever Crossing."

"Thank you! You've done us a great service! Here, have a hundred gold, ya putz."

Yep, this. I'd love to make a living hunting bounties, but I can make ten times as much gold just through trading stock in the markets without risking my livelihood. Hell, I can make that 100 gold just beating some poor bloke up in a bar fight.

The shout Call of Valor.

Agreed; worst shout in the game IMO. I'd say that Dismay is useless, too, but it's just a matter of playstyle. If you use Illusion or a Nord, you obviously don't need the shout, just the same way a mage doesn't need Elemental Fury.

For that matter, why aren't there any shouts that work particularly well with mages that don't really benefit non-mages?

Srsly.

Yes, it's of great benefit to, say, a battlemage who uses all three stats. But you are likely to find a necklace with a high enough buff in one attribute that it outclasses the Gauldur Amulet, and with moderate Enchanting, make one yourself. If you're a master enchanter, then you could easily make an amulet with double the power of the Gauldur Amulet spread across two attributes.

Still, I wouldn't say it's the most useless.

It's nitpicky as hell I feel like, but anything that rewards leveled gold bugs me because of how rapidly gold becomes completely useless in Skyrim. I'd rather have some leveled anything else in the world over gold.

I like when I'm given 20-200 gold for a quest, which is pocket change.

The Thane weapons also deserve a mention. My "reward" usually ends up being disenchanted or sold.

Even though the Daedric weapons have limited use, at least they look unique. I like how Sanguine's Rose is a...rose.

Well honestly, I didn't care much for the rewards, I cared more about what was going on in the quests and completing them. The only rewards I was satisfied with were The Black Star, Sanguine's Rose, Nightingale gauntlets and boots.

Like others have said, I do the quests primarily for the role-play value. There are very few quests that give anything interesting as a reward, and when they do the reward is still made obsolete as you level up. Giving gold as a reward makes sense, but due to how terribly unbalanced Skyrim's economy is, getting more gold is really anti-climatic. Most of the items you get as rewards fall into one of three categories: they are level-based generic items that can be found randomly in the world, they are unique items that will eventually be superceded by something you craft, or they are skill or role-play specific items that your character just won't use. The latter case is to some degree unavoidable, but playing a dual-wielding sword/dagger build and being frequently gifted with axes, maces, warhammers, greatswords, etc. isn't much of a "reward".

kyne's token by far. i was so disgusted by it that i killed the quest giver out of spite.

the quest takes you all over skyrim hunting spirit beasts for a neclace that reduces animal damage by 10% and bows do 5% extra damage.

the quest itslef is fine, but the reward is downright offensive.

I agree the worst reward is 100 gold for killing bunch of badnits/giant/dragon. But the best award I have seen is 2 septims from Battle-born kid.

The reward for finishing the civil war quest line, lvled random weapon. Meh i was hopeing for Chrysamere.

Also Savior's Hide, Masque of Clavicus Vile and Ebony mail, not becuase i didnt liked how they look or that their stats are weaker then of other armors, but because they dont work with the matched set perk.

I there was some form of satisfaction from the quests themselves I would not care too much about the reward, but the quests are so boring and similar that it is really hard to get any fun out of them.
Random task that I don't care about -> ends up in cave murdering bandits, finds item, go back, 100 gold.
It is funny how many problems in Skyrim can be solved by murdering bandits or dragons.

Those 2 septims were his whole life's savings, too!

The main thing that I hate is the radiant quests, and how they just send you to some random dungeon to slay some random bandit boss and receive a leveled amount of gold. The whole concept lacks inspiration.
