Most dissapointing quest rewards?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 12:13 am

Dont mention the quest or any specifics related to it. Just say the reward. Mine was when you got a certain "family heirloom" it was a damn plate. I mean c'mon! What are some of you guys disappointing rewards?

My Blade of (Insert City Here) was an enchanted shield.

When Captain Haafingar throws his mighty shield
All those who chose to oppose his shield must yield

If he's led to the Dov and a duel is due

Then the Fus and Ro and Dah'll come through

When Captain Haafingar throws his mighty shield!!!

Pretty much all of them, sadly. Only a very few uniques, at the end of some of the more involved quests, ever saw much use. What bugs me most, is all the radiant quests where they toss you 25 or 50g as a reward, even if you're lvl 60 and have 500k gold in your pocket. :shakehead:

They need to do a bit of level-matching on their rewards system. Not that I really care, I guess, but still. Stopped doing radiants long ago as boring and pointless.

Don't really care about the rewards. It's the quest that is or is not the reward.

Oh my. In that case, Skyrim must leave you feeling pretty bereft, for the most part. The quality of most of the quests are about as great and memorable as the loot from them.

The reward for helping a certain pirate in a certain midden. And the reward for killing him too.

To be honest, I'm glad that most quests have simple gold or skill increase rewards. After all, it's unlikely that your everyday Nord would just HAPPEN to have a rare artifact, and it's even less likely that they'd give it to the player.

750 gold total (The bonus is extra gold) after gaining at least 1000 for assassinating the bride during her speech. It's suposed to be unavoidable. I turned invisible and ran away, but I talked to the argonian and I instantly gained a bounty.

All the bounties I've ever had paid 100 gold, regardless of what hold they're in.

Those quests where someone ows money at the tavern and you make them pay up. "Oh thanks, have some random stuff that belonged to that guy" - hands you a pair of shoes and an iron dagger -_-

It's also highly unlikely I'd do his stupid quest for such crappy rewards, if you want to play the 'realistic' card. Oh, wait... I already don't do their stupid quests for those crappy rewards... nevermind.

A lot of Daedric artifacts are disappointing. Many just can't compare to self made items. They need to be unique like Ebony Mail or Wabbajack.

The Thane weapons are bad.

The one for fetching 3 (i think) jewels for the argonian innkeeper in riften, the reward was worth far less than the materials I gave him. Felt like killing him.

The end. You get nothing, not a peanut. No recognition of your deeds. ZIP! You get treated as if you never did anything at all. :stare:

EDIT: Change that. Come to think of it that's pretty realistic. Reminds me of being at work!

Get named Thane of Riften at level 30+. Jarl gives you a hunting bow enchanted to do a pithy amount of magicka damage. Usually I keep rewards from those types of quests (getting named Thane or whatever), but in that case...
