Most terrifying enemy

My emotions tend to range from "Oh [censored! Here we go!" to "Come at me bro."
"Afraid" isn't really on the scale. Unsettling MIGHT be. But never Afraid.

You haven't fought a dual-wiealding Forsworn Briarheart after level 30 then. If it sees your first, you're dead :bolt:

Briarhearts are one the easier enemies.. i tend to find ravagers more troublesome then them.. but then thats because they usually attack in twos or threes

Wispmothers, always. I'm not sure what it's about them, they come off as creepy.

Dunno about "terrifying" but fighting Dwarven centrurions at lower levels is a bit scary... but the first time I met one, I led that b****** into one of the spinning blade traps. Can't remember which ruin it was, though... shame.

In the beginning it was the damn bears. I'd finish killing a dragon and screaming "KAPPLA" in triumph, then BAM, a bear rushes me and I lose an hour of gameplay because I had a bad thing about not quick saving. Then it was the ice trolls, like the ones outside Labyrinthian. Three of them attacking while fighting off a dragon, I ran around and let the dragon and trolls fight it out until one troll was left alive. Ran around trying to kill him for 20 minutes before finally getting the idea to Fus Roh Dah his ass off the mountain top. Now those flipping Chaurus Reapers kill me in one or two hits no matter my level. :swear:

Not an enemy but what I find.. unsettling is the voice from the Dark Brotherhood's door! About creatures I jump sometimes when a bear roars really loud right behind me.. I just hate the sound they make.. It's too damn loud compared to the world surrounding!

I got that from the one in Oblivion, that was awesome first encountering that, I haven't visited the one in Skyrim though and don't intend to, well maybe but it's very unlikely.

Ancient Dragons left a mark on my first character, mainly because they could 1 hit her everytime they got close.

But scary? Well not entierly sure but for me it does down to Ice Wraiths or Charus. Both are creepy, both make horrible noises and both are pretty scary combat wise depending on level.

I don't like the stupid ninja dragons. Once I was fighting a sabre cat at a low level and I won, but was badly hurt. Out of nowhere I hear a loud boom and turn around. Sitting there is a dragon that does the finnishing move where it bites and throws me. Now whenever I see a shadow moving across the ground I get paranoid and start franticaly running while looking for the dragon.

Terrifying isn't really part of it, theres enemies that are hard, and enemies that make me jump -like when a centurion has somehow snuck up on you-

Heehee. I was doing Peryrite's quest the other day in those Dwarven ruins that start with a "B". At one point, you run down a hallway when a Centurion suddenly rounds the corner at the other end and starts barreling towards you. That was fun, just because I felt legitimately threatened for a moment.

But really, none of the monsters are scary in Skyrim. Oblivion, on the other hand, had some undead who freaked me out more than a few times, especially at lower levels.

Keep an eye on the sky traveler - random guard

/ but i really almost [censored] my pants now trying to find cover when a dragon shows up (using deadly combat + deadly dragons one breath from any dragon can kill me almost instantaneously )

Hm, Dwarven enemies can't scare me, though they can shock me with surprise appearance. They're just machines though, easily explained, in their twisted TES logic sort of way. Edit; would have been scarier if the devs had resolved to emphasize that those constructs had been waiting in Dwarven ruins for aeons, purposeless and neglected, would've made it more interesting.

I dunno, the undead are somewhat lacking in this game, and they're the usual stock for scares. Draugr just seem too human this time around, like you're fighting frostbitten geriatrics in bdsn gear. Wispmothers just look interesting to me, nothing there really inspires true terror in me.

Zombies in Oblivion, however. They seemed human too, but they were a few steps removed in the other damned direction, and that hits the nail on the head. They LOOKED human, but unlike the Draugr, their actions were completely alien. Their movements, sounds, behaviour, appearance, that all fitted nicely. Wraiths scared the crap out of me too, until I purchased the Summon Wraith spell, and I became familiar with them.
