Music That Leaves You in Awe

Post » Sun Jul 03, 2011 6:20 am

hm, Latin songs, especially if sang by a choir.or choir songs. they just seem to speak to the soul. not so much in awe, but that's the closest to it. :)

general music preference are nicely reflected in my playlist in my signature :)

one of these days by pink flyod, there is a reverb or some kind of affect with the electric guitar that is absolutly haunting. espeacially back when I would come home from the beach at 2am riding my bike on the dark highway. some of the best times of my life... so far

oh, and throwing shapes by dirty vegas. not usually into techno but there is a bit towards the end of that song where every thing just becomes epic.

All of these guys are great, but in this video watch the drummer, Deantoni Parks. Blast beats might look impressive, but it's nothing compared to the skill needed to change rhythms like Deantoni does.

Speed and complex rhythm are two different things. Both are genuinely difficult in a competitive field.

Speaking of which, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3b-JaA0lFs&feature=related, Juan Alderete, he's the bassist from The Mars Volta, and he's amazing.

I'm not into his music so much but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inhckpMxxdo&feature=related is an http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n--nDc_mb1Y&feature=related drummer.

Also the whole band is super talented but I love http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ErU8bwBcQY#t=1m35s's bass playing.
