much as I'd find listening to techno or hip-hop whilst playing jarring for the same reasons, despite being perfectly happy listening to either in another context. I don't listen to the radio much myself, but I love the ambient music in the game so for me it's no biggie.

I listened to the pipradio/Mr. NV for my first play through. I felt it went great along with my run and gun build.
I listened to the ambient music on my lone sniper as I always thought music blaring from my pipboy would be... odd on a sneak.
Oddly enough I am really digging techno on my energy/explosives run. It may be out of sync with the enviroment, but it fits nicely with my character.

What I don't like is that I thought if I saved in my own music it may break Mr. NV from always playing the same two songs, but I was wrong

Why dont you just insert your own Elvis, if you're already using completely out-of-place 80's metal? Which I too am a fan of, but have more than enough sense to realize that Fallout is the world of Cannonball Adderley, Miles Davis, and Billie Holliday. Not Chuck Schuldiner, Yngwie Malmsteem, and Lita Ford.

Classic Vegas era music. I always sing along to them when they play. Also, it was epic when I stepped into the strip for the first time in the game, at midnight, and the latter song started blazing. My hat is off to New Vegas.
