You make the implication that its a technical limitation{intended or not}...
It is a technical limitation...intended. I don't care what excuse they give - the main reason is because they don't want to deal with the support from people screwing up their game files and calling the single point of contact (MS or Sony). You can do command line stuff without pirating games. With PCs there is no single point of contact because everything is manufactured by 'someone else' so when you call MS with a problem they just tell you to "update your drivers" and send you on your way. I'll stop now because we'll just go back and forth criticizing and defending and neither of our minds will be changed by the other. :tongue:

LOL! I love you, Buckom!
Thanks. I do what I can. :lol:

It would be nice to have console commands to "fix bug/glitch" issues, but that's the only reason I would want them. I could even see that being done through X-box live or Psn. Find the correct "fix" through the on-line server and download it like a patch.

Of course that's just because of my play style, none of my characters have yet gotten past lvl 50, I create my characters to do certain things, when those get done they "go on vacation". ( I do keep one or two saves per character just in case I want to go back to them for some reason).

I see no reason to start off my characters adventures wearing Deadric armor with a sword skill of 100. But as I said that's my playstyle and if someone wants to do that, the I guess they should have the ability to.

As for the "console comands are a perk for pc player's, cause we gotta have something" :yuck: Dude you ever hear of mods? You don't like the way a mouse and keyboard move your character around... I DO believe that you can synch up an X-box controller to your pc. Wow console player's get the DLC a month earlier... ummm creation kit????? I can pretty much bet that 75%+ of what is on the DLC will probably already be in a mod. I'm pretty dang sure that I read that someone already made a mod that gives pc player's a short quest ( something about the mines of Moria) .

Yes I do know that some of the mod's aren't as stable as an "official DLC or expansion kit" but I also know that some of the ppl that make mods are dang good at it!

Cheats are almost entirely unheard of in modern gaming. This is one thing you really can blame on Consoles. Specifically Achievements/Trophies. Using in-game cheats (Which are essentially hacks) to earn achievement points/trophies violates the terms of service for XboxLive and PSN, and are grounds for banning. There are many cases of "Cheated gamerscores" getting their Score reset to 0, and permanently stamping their gamertag as a cheater by Microsoft Admins.

Just do what they did in Red Dead Redemption: The use of cheat codes will block that save from activating trophies.

This. And there are many exploits available for console users.

You can make infinite money quite easily with Alchemy or Enchanting and use the money for training.

You can get free training from followers.

You can level up most magic schools to 100 in less than an hour as soon as you get your enchanting leveled up.

You can level up your archery and sneak to 100 by sneak attacking friendly NPCs.

If this sort of thing is going to be available anyway they may as well include cheats to save people from grinding.

All 360 games.. I'd like to think Saint's Row started this trend.

Cheats = Dead Replay Value

Depends on the cheat.

I want a way to duplicate my weapons so I can give all of my followers Blades' Swords. That's not going to kill my replay value.

Cheats = Dead Replay Value

I think that would depend on the person playing the game. I can see where somone might want the codes for Deadric armor/weapons, for one character, but totally not need them for a pure mage character. And the type of ppl that's going to want to do everything in the game with one character, might be the ppl that wouldn't create another to play again in the 1st place. They are going to grind skills anyway, to get to that Deadric smithing perk.

Re-play value is only for the ppl that want to re-play the game, either becuase of RP or becuase they prefer to have different types of characters doing different things.

Personally I would use cheat codes mainly on glitched quests.

Edit: or I might use a cheat code to give a follower armor that my mage will never have the perk's for. I'd really have to think about that.

Not everyone has the time or desire to replay several times as different class-types and may just want to sightsee. I got my first character to 52 the hard way, but on my 2nd one I used the Oghma Infinium to get her from 23 to 42 because I didn't want to put all the time in - I had already done it once and had nothing to prove.

Console commands on consoles would be nice, mostly for fixing things not cheating though.
