We need to know more about the Greatest Mage

Post » Sat Jun 23, 2012 12:35 am

I'm currently doing the College of Winterhold questline and doesn't it bother you that theres almost no information or history on Archmage Savos Aren? Afterall he is Archmage in the only place in Skyrim that welcomes magic and possibly being the strongest mage in Skyrim that's alive...

I came in here to talk about the Greatest Mage and yet there's no discussion of Colette Marence. Criminal! CRIMINAL!

Yeah he does seems like a character that should have been more fleshed out. Just completed the college quest line as well today on my most recent character and he really doesn't say much about his past either. All we know is that he became Arch-Mage after being the only remaining survivor on that quest him and 5 other students went on to the labyrinthian.

Erm, greatest Mage? No. I though we were going to talk about the mysterious Shalidor or maybe the creepy life form that speaks to you in the midden?

I sense a disturbing lack of Fyr in this thread.

The Divayth? Yes indeed. The guilds of original Skyrim are kind of lackluster, personally I was most disappointed in the college.

Galerion would be the strongest. Shalidor is more interesting in my opinion.

The fact that the College is the only major faction you can join that's not either shades of grey or evil and it's weakly written was very disappointing.

True, but there's a lot of lore based on G. The Mystic. I really want to learn more about Shalidor as well as the Labrynthian.

M'aiq the Liar is secretly the best mage in all of Tamriel.

The library was suppose to be bigger and it lacked both classrooms and more students, it was a major disappointment and pretty much just looks like a large castle then a university of magic.

On the upside, we got Colette out of it. And Colette's like, top five most memorable NPCs of Skyrim, hands down.

Pretty sure sarvos is more of arch mage due to being the most experienced. Everyone else in his level was killed so there would have been no competition for the position.

Pretty much this. The College was the biggest disappointment for me in Skyrim especially since magic is my favorite. They don't even really teach you anything their except about wards that one time.

ALIVE Archmage Savos Aren is the best hands down. Its too bad we know nothing of him.

Coming in second is obviously Marcurio.

they did give you some history on skyrim before throwing an apprentice into an extremely dangerous situation. Guess they aren't the most beginner friendly school.

exactly my point.

Having alot of power does not mean you are the greatest. In Savos's case he has the most experience, which in truth is what magic is about. Therefore, he is the greatest.
