Sounds like you saved right when you were about to die. Just load an early save

If you're on a console then try and load the auto save. If that don't work I think you're screwed.

If you rely on autosaves, thats a mistake for NV. I always use manual saves as a backup. But idk what else to tell ya sorry

Are you on PC? If so, just hit the ~ key, and type in "tgm" to toggled "god mode" as soon as you load the save.

That happened to me while exiting the Nuclear test site (and dying of radiation damage upon exiting the building ~and it autosaved :().
You may just have to accept reverting to a previous game. If you are on PC, it might be possible to load the save, and pop open the console fast enough to assign a new value to their dehydration.
(or to enable god-mode, and then assign values, or drink water; this messes with achievements I believe.)

Try to see if you can bring up your pip boy as soon as you load the save, if you can you should be able to pop a few stimpacks and be fine, if not sorry dude I think your just out of luck.

Like a few posters said, try activating the console or your pip boy QUICK after you load

That's a good option to try ~if you have liquids or foods that provide water. :tops:

I feel for you, on my first play though, it was uber. I got the YLOD, lost everything. 500+ from NV, FO3 and Oblivion. Not to mention FF13 and Uncharted. Just think of all the fun when you start again. I did.

Don't sweat it man, I just lost everything on my xbox hardrive so I'm having to start all over too. Over a thousand hours on F3, around five hundred already on NV, not to mention multiple different saves on Mass Effect one and two totalling who knows how long. It svcks but hey, starting over ain't always a bad thing, have fun man.

Bethesda should implement a dual autosave, that flip-flops between two saved games. This would allow the player who dies on exiting a building, to skip [back] past the current, to the previous save (when they went in).
(Or, use the 2nd one as a sanity check, and reload from that one should the PC die in the first two seconds of loading an autosave.)

Did you try literally just pressing b over and over again while its loading? Because I don't think the game should have auto saved if you were already dead.

Just checking... it's not by any chance that your character is just crippled, and that's maybe why he can't walk? While off of hard-core mode, use a stimpak.

Of course you can, but the game overwrites the last autosave, and its not always apparent if you are opening a door or loading a new area.

It doesn't matter how many hard drives they give you, they'll soon change the form factor, lol (shape of it)

Well harsh lesson. I always play on hardcoe, I never let my food, sleep or H2O get over 200. Maybe you should do the same.
