Vampires VS. Werewolves ... it's been too overdone for it to be too interesting, even if there are Werebears with them
How is it overdone, please tell me how?

Wondering if the blue, fiery, skeletal horse thing is going to be for Volkihar or Dawnguard (or both?). It looks pretty evil and vampiric, but the character they have shown riding it looks like he's using the Dawnguard's armor and weapons.

The Dawnguard could be armed with ''specialist'' equipment to even the stakes slightly.

I noticed that too. I'm hoping either side is able to get it.

Oversaturation. Between movies such as Underworld, Van Helsing, Twilight, and television series such as True Blood, there's been an overabundance of Werewolf v Vampire things in the last decade, making any new attempts to do it seem like jumping on the band wagon.

There's no reason it COULDN'T work, but it's going to be hard to bring something new to the table in a time that everybody seems to think the key to big money is combining these two monsters.

It's the same oversaturation with Zombie Apocalypses. Zombies have infected almost every game genre imaginable, as well as books, television shows, podcast dramas, and film to the point that I almost always groan when I first hear about a new zombie thing coming out. Some people make great use of it, such as Rockstar Games with Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, TV series such as The Walking Dead, and the podcast We're Alive! However, just hearing something has zombies in it doesn't make me want to experience it right away anymore because too many people are trying to go back to that well at once.

The vampire vs werewolf thing is overdone in movies and tv, but not in games. I think Bethesda could make it work, not saying this situation would be my first choice because I would rather see vampires and werewolves working together against the Vigilants of Stendarr. But the whole zombies thing is the most overdone thing ever in video games.

Zombies aren't the MOST overdone thing in video games. You forgot about World War II.

Medal of Honor, Battlefield. And a plethora of badly made clones, for example, Hour of Victory.

I do think the vampires against werewolves is overused, similar to the now increasingly overused modern warfare concept.

I didn't know what games used the World War II theme because I don't play war games.

I was going to provide examples of the overused Vampire Vs. Werewolf concept within movies and games, but you got most of them. The Blade series was Vamps vs Lycans, too.

However Zombies...

House of the Dead
Resident Evil
Dawn of the Dead
Day of the Dead
Night of the Living Dead
I Am Legend (it can be classed as a zombie fiilm)
CoD
Dead Frontier (browser based game)
TES (all of them. It doesn't matter how they try to rename them, Draugr are still zombies)
etc.
etc.

I think I made my point.

Technically, Draugr are basically mummified Nords, not true zombies, and are closer to Ghouls (not the Fallout variant. The D&D one.) Look at Bloodmoon. But, Skyrim does seem to lack "true" zombies...

Nah, this tends to be standard fare for RPGs. Evil guys get the good stuff, good guys have to do without.

That's why people become evil, because you know, they are more powerful and besides, good guys have virtue, they don't need rewards. They quest for no monetary payment or fame.

I'm sure there will be other stuff for the Dawnguard. They just talk about crossbows since that's a big fan request. Besides, there are two more interviews tomorrow, and I'm sure Todd Howard wanted to save some stuff for those.

I said zombies are oversaturated in pop culture though, so I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.

Also, the creatures in I Am Legend are more akin to vampires than zombies.
Spoiler
They just come off mindless at the end because test audiences didn't like the moral ambiguity of Will Smith's character when they learned that Will Smith wasn't so much a man all alone in a city of demons, but a demon terrorizing and killing innocent souls that he created in the first place.

This is true. Ok, scratch Skyrim from the list.

Also true, scratch the entire list, lol.

They're far from mindless, but then I prefer the alternate ending to the one used in the UK release. I suppose looking at the alt ending, it would be more apt to liken them to vampires as opposed to zombies.

Dawnguard has "light" spells I think. From the screenshot we see a new spell so it is probably used against vampires.

Cool, it sounds like it would be for a paladin type character.
