I had to join this forum just put my 2 cents in. I have also been hit with the dlc error even without downloading the expansion. The fact that this patch wasn't thoroughly tested is sickening. This COULDN'T have happened to so many people if some testers were put into seats and tried this out. Hopefully, the next update fixes the problem, but between this and load-times Bethesda is looking unprofessional and I'll certainly have to think twice before buying another game from them.

After toying with it for a few I figured out a simple fix to get everyone on XBOX that has saved game loading trouble by until the official fix is released on LIVE.

Go to your dashboard and then go to Settings ---> System Settings---> Memory ----> Games ---> Fallout New Vegas. find the "fallout new vegas title update #3" file and delete it (the name might not be exact but it's not any DLC or saved game file so it should stick out like a sore thumb, also the date created should be only a day old). sign in if you arent already and start the game and the game will as if you want to update the game. DECLINE the update and continue to the main screen. You should be able to load all of your saved games with out the DLC error or freezing. That should get us all back to playing until Bethesda can get the Fix out for the update.

If the above doesn't work after deleting the update try to download the DLC again and restart your XBOX before starting up the game, be sure to DECLINE the update!!!!

Tested Dead Money DLC with above method and it works just fine. I recommend saving new saves (not overwriting previous saves) just incase if you make any progress in your game until the updated patch comes out.

It will still have to go through MS approval/certification. We can only hope that the process will be expedited.

Finally get hold of the GOTY edition of fallout 3 so I can finally finish the main quest and my PC knackers up because of the bloody Windows recovery Virus. So then I think, hey why the hell don't I get into my girlfriends copy of New Vegas on the 360 in the meantime, at least I won't have problems booting that up..... a week of bliss..... 'oh check it out an update yay! Goodbye glitches'. .... oh wait... what? WTF? load damn You. LOAD!!! Fraking Frak

I actaully had this problem to I dont remember if i reported it though. also i found no solutions i simply put the czech away with the intent of puling it back out when obsidian or whoever fixs the problem. Honestly though i dont think they care. BUT ICAN TELL YOU THIS we will be waiting another month for honest hearts becuase of these new glitchs.

To fix the dlc error problem, uninstall and go to your download history on account management, find them, and redownload. This works for all New Vegas' dlc's. So no need to take off the patch or anything. BTW removing patchs now and reinstalling them later will only cause more problems and some things the patchs was supoosed to fix will be left unfixed. Such as the Abandoned BoS bunker being permanantly locked unless the patch is takin off again.

im guessing that this patch is preparing it for honest hearts but it messing everyones game up including mine.

I LOVE Fallout 3. I AM FED UP WITH NEW VEGAS. It is obvious this game was rushed through testing or is just too big to catch this many problems. I already had to restart my game 3 times due to glitches and freezeups. When ED-E was ready for an upgrade he made his anouncment then locked up the game. I had to go back to previous save ,about 20 man hours back (learned my lesson on saveing). " I put a spell on you" mission is locked up at the end of it, and I cant get passed. The game stutters , stalls, load time is sad. I thought I was downloading a patch that would fix all this frustration, but NOOOO . I get the equivelent of cyber terrorism from the people I gave money to in the first place. It not only destroyed my latest game but locked up ALL my saved games (about 10). This game could be so great if it were not impossible to play let alone finish. Please take the time and money to produce a good game that is well tested and not rush out the latest junk in time for xmas. I know this company has the potential for quality . You have shown it to me before.

After installing the new patch on the Xbox 360 (4/27/11) my previous saved game crashes, and causes the load screen to freeze. My only DLC is the Caravan Pack......so boring....

I just got the new title update and I can load all my saves, now I can checkout all the new tweaks. Thanks for the quick fix!
