From what I understand, the courier came from California, but you don't actually start playing on California's territory.

So now that the game is finished, is there a magic disc that is going to be transported from A to B for duplication/production? I fear that our game-dream might be delayed if the courier gets shot in the head twice and left for dead in a ditch! Better to fly it from A to B to avoid the universe's propensity for unbelievable ironies..

Most games are done 3 or 4 weeks in advance. They still need to send it Microsoft and Sony for certification, copy it to discs, send it to retailers etc.

It takes time to replicate the game and print all the boxes, manuals and other stuff!

I don't think people would like us very much if we just shipped games the second they were finished. :)

well that and other business reasons, since obviously the direct download version on Steam could be released the same day it′s done.

Well, I think I should change it into

Jason, I think you're my favourite New Vegas dev, talkative one (In the interviews and videos of sorts, at least) :P
So, they finally let you out of that office basemant into the outside world now? Enjoy the vacation, man

I've got a question.

Shouldn't they be able to release downloadable versions almost as soon as they finish the game. I mean don't you just have to upload the completed version to Steam or D2D?

Internetz FTW!!!

I think thats a Customer Service issue. Can you imagine the uproar from us console users or people who cant play games like New Vegas on our PCs? There would be hell on these forums.

Just cook them-up right! I don't mind if dinner takes a bit longer if I know it's going to be really good. :P

The lines of hungry gamers in front of the GameStops and KMarts of the world could turn into a riotous mod worthy of a Fallout game if the shipments fall through! :bolt:

This just means we're that much closer to exploring the Mojave Wasteland. The wait is just a slight bit more painful now...

All the same only 18 days left so its not that bad, right? :tops:

Because they still might be working out some marketing issues. Plus they set the date like 6 months ago. So they planned to release on that date. Just because the game is done, doesnt mean everything else related to it is. Plus, now it takes like a week for all the stores to get it, a few days for everthing to get set up. That only really leaves like 5 days to spare. Wouldn't you rather its done 5 days early instead of them delaying it?

Sure, the wait is painful, but they needed those five months to squash bugs. You wouldn't want New Vegas to be like Arcanum: Brilliant but crippled?

We would forgive you. Really we would.

Put the disk in a paper sleeve and get it to me already. You can send the packaging along later.
