so i got a new xbox (1month old) and only played fallout on it and it freezed like 30 times (hard reboot)..now i cant play any game anymore..thanks..good work !

Really you should have left the game alone after it kept freezing because really if it freezes 10 times at a certain point, what difference is it going to make if you keep trying? Unfortunately, this may be your fault to a certain extent when you kept rebooting ur console, and The developers fault for making a game that had a lot of glitches, in future you need to look on the forums when you get a problem like this again with another game as someone else may have experienced the same problem and therefore you may have known what would of happened if you kept rebooting.

Well said Zaco817. I too would have kept on playing regardless of the crashing, you certainly don't expect it to kill your xbox! After all FA3 is still renowned for load crashing and this is still the same with NV. Never stopped me playing on.

Whoa so you have to send it back to MS ?, don't you get a years cover on Xbox's in the states ? i.e you can take it back to the shop you bought it from for a new console.

What is your definition of "Hard Reboot"? Mine is unplugging the power cable off the back to turn it off. If that is the case, you could corrupt the firmware. You will kill the operating system (ie. Windows) on a computer if you unplug the cable or hold down the power button to shut it down too many times.

it was a original.. i sent it to the microsoft repair center..let see what happens.. i wrote a whole report to microsoft about that fallout problem..but they probally dont care at all

Let me say again, TO SOME EXTENT its his fault, but its also the fault of the Developers who made the game. Common sense would tell you that if it kept freezing after 10 times you wouldn't really keep trying to do it over 30 times come on, he should have had a look on the forums for someone else that did the same thing and buggered up his xbox, its common sense guys. He should have also taken the game back at that point instead of trying to force it to work when clearly it wasnt going to.

The Xbox 360 is prone to crashing, he should have taken the game back and had it replaced, after trying to play it 10 times, he should have started the game again if there was constant crashes. If you keep turning off your console and turning it back on then surely this would definitely would have lead to a crash with the console.

FYI the crashing is happening on all formats of fallout new vegas, pc, ps3 and 360. so it is a programing problem not hardware. go check the other forums for those formats and you will see.

I've only had it freeze twice on the xbox arcade jasper chip version... And that was after some seriously long game hours. Any game is bound to freeze up after a long play period... But if it was freezing that many times and I had just purchased an xbox I would immediately believe that there was something wrong with my rig and not the game.

Obviously its not his "RIG", it is the game. I have encountered numerous freezes, and many others have too. Now we can no longer play for the game without worrying about frying the gaming system it is supposed to be played on. Just as others stated, all other platforms are having the same issues. So obviously it is the software causing the hardware failure. Yes constant rebooting the system is bad and will cause issues. However in my case I waited an entire night after encountering numerous freezes, and still had the issues after letting it "cool off". I know that my system is not to blame as I play many other games for extended periods of time without any issues what so ever. If anybody even mentions the fact that Fallout New Vegas is a demanding game and pushes the console to the limits, is ridiculous. The game is made for my Xbox and should very well play on it, just as any other system that meets its requirements.
So we either don't play the game or risk ruining our gaming system. What you you are telling me is that I should just send off my Xbox, get another one and play the game and experience the same problems again. I do not think that is a viable answer. The game is bug ridden, like an infested mattress with bed bugs. Its horribly nasty and not fun to deal with. The entire situation makes me sick, as a game is supposed to be fun. I have spent more hours searching and reading the bugs for this game, than I have actually played now. I truly would like to enjoy this game, but find it impossible to do at this point in time.

As long as you bought it brand new and not used or refurbished, go to xbox.com/support and get a work ticket put in.

heh I just sent in my xbox 360 elite because I got the 3 red rings, crashed 3 times and then I get the red rings.

Having the Xbox under warranty is not the issue here. Why should I play the game until it fries my system then have to wait 3 weeks to a month for it to be sent back to me. I will just wait fro black ops to come out, my time will be happily spent playing a game that can actually play without freezing or bugs causing me ti be unable to play it. Imagine that, a game that freakin works, amazing. Hell I may even play Fallout 3 again, at least know I can do what I want on there not worrying about 9 freezes in a row, or a game ending bug eating my characters save file.
Yes I know Black Ops has nothing on the expansiveness that Fallout offers, but I would rather put my money on a game that actually works and does not have the potential of frying my gaming system.
