Im not thrilled with everything in the game but who else gives you such a large sandbox to play in? I'll buy the next one as I got my moneys worth x 10 already. Most companies are content to release 8 hr popcorn games that leave you feeling ripped off...not so with Bethesda.

I have been reading the posts on this forum lately. Beyond the general consensus that people are unhappy/disappointed with the game and its apparent lack of content and compelling game play, people have lost confidence in Bethesda as a company and and appear to no longer have consumer confidence in their product. Without reading between the lines, it appears that this has happened to Bethie by their own doing. I mean, there have been posts which outright accuse the company of lying, baiting and switching, and even misrepresenting Skyrim. I wonder has this sentiment hurt Bethesda in any way and furthermore will the result of this be seen in coming titles in the future near and far? For example, based on my last experience in FONV and Skyrim, it is doubtful that I will purchase the next installment of Fallout. Does anyone else feel this way about the games to come out next from Bethesda?

Ofcourse I'll buy it, Skyrim is bloody brilliant. Seriously, if this is not a good game - then I suggest people just give up gaming alltogether. Same goes for F3 and FNV, which were bloody brilliant... sandbox versions with the same multiple options pending on build as F1... yes thank you very much.

This is just the whinage choir... the same kind of people who complain that the LOTR movies svck, whilst truly poor movies fly ompletely beneath their radar.

Sure... people can say "it isn't a game to their taste, but that's a radically different statement from saying it is a bad game.

There's 10 MILLION copies of the game out there. Compare that with the number of complaints on various forums, and this one. Now, I haven't counted them obviously, but I'm sure you'll find that the complainers make up a very small percentage of the game owners around the world.

I don't have a problem with constructive criticism or suggestions, mind. I just really hate all the posts screaming about how Bethesda ruined their lives....

The real story is here:

http://store.steampowered.com/stats/

Oh, and to comment on some of the other posts, never ever believe pregame hype and marketing speak. The gaming industry has become so massive that it's exactly like hollywood now, so you have flashy people in suits who don't even play games telling you how great their game is. Game studio PR people will always embellish things or even tell outright lies. Tone down your expectations or better yet, stay away from previews and E3 interviews and the like and you'll have a better gaming experience.

Yeah, I remember the time when I need a good game is by watching television about game reviews (not really a good idea though). I don't even need to watch the news about the game's features or any kinds of news in the internet, I just need to play the game. With any kind of problems like bugs that I embrace in games, I just love it for some reason. If I play Skyrim without the concern of the internet or the reviews, the experience could be a whole lot better, even with the bugs (can't say that to PS3 owners though, with a console like that, I think I can understand). Like how Adam Sessler writes when he review Skyrim, "I just play the game".

I will buy the next game, because I do enjoy the open world and the lore and stuff, I just feel they're going in a direction I don't like. I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place with no possible way TES will stop simplifying. If Skyrim didn't sell, they'd probably assume that was because it was too hard to get into, ie "not accessible enough" and want to make the next one even MORE "accesible", and if they DID sell well, which is the reality here, they'll take it that this direction is a good one to go, and go further with it.

An open world Doom game! Yes I would.

Not sure how it would work exactly but am sure Bethesda could make it happen. They re invented Fallout after all.

Could also lead the way for multilayer in an open world game by Bethesda that some fans want so much.

Did Fable sell badly? We got Peter Molyneux'ed by Todd on many features. The game will still sell very well and I still will buy it. Just not at release. I will wait a few months. If I see a new TES game before 2014 I will not buy it either.

I'll only stop buying TES games if they do one of the following:

- Remove first-person POV
- Get rid of the RPG elements completely
- Make the gameworld very linear
- Make a set or semi-set player-character, with a voice
- Make the game too cinematic

Are you typing about Mass Effect2?

Vocal minority syndrome, the happy players are the ones playing it.

^This. I don't think the game is perfect (no game I have ever played has been), but it's an amazing game. I can understand why some PS3 players would be peeved, but I seriously doubt the opinions espoused on this forum are representative of those of the general gaming community (let alone the casual gamer). The people I know in real life who play Skyrim are addicted and praise it endlessly (including a number of PS3 players).

Anyway, I'll definitely buy the next game, if it's an open-world RPGish game.

This is the internet. People who post on the internet are usually miserable, consummate complainers. What people fail to realize is, besides its flaws, Skyrim is a work of art. Not too many games can make me stop in my tracks just to take in the beauty and the art. The shear size of the world of Skyrim is amazing. The dungeons are huge (ever been to blackreach?) and diverse. The storyline is unique and fits well in the world of Tamriel. Bethesda worked their culos off on this game and it is apparent. People just love a witch hunt. Hunt away I say (I'll continue to play this awesome game).

And yes, I will buy their product again. No one does it like Bethesda.

I say ignore the people saying how the "minority" is complaining.

MANY of Skyrim's faults are genuine terrible faults. If I owned Skyrim for the PS3 I would NEVER buy a TES game again. Heck, the lack of completion is making me think twice. If a company can't wait to actually finish their game and would rather release an incomplete game just for the extra money.. Doesn't say much about them.

I'll probably buy TESVI, but my patience is wearing thin. any more "streamlining" and I may be gone. I said the same after Oblivion, but it seems Skyrim wasn't quite that bad.

Well... I really enjoyed ME2 for what it was.

I'd hate to see TES go in that direction though, and would refuse to buy the game out of principle.

Don't believe everything you hear, especially on a gaming forum. Yeah I have run into problems. I still don't understand what happened to spellmaking. Would I like more, of course. But what game can you not say that about. With all that being said i'm closing in on 200 hours played, so are alot of the people on here who are complaining. Yes I'll buy the next game..

I don't think I will unless they do some drastic changes to their design philosophy. I'll follow the next Fallout title when ever it is announced and see where it goes and depending on it's course, stick around or leave.

I won't buy anything without knowing it, so I'll never promise to buy or not buy it. It all depends on whether Bethesda learns from the mistakes on Skyrim or not (I haven't bought Skyrim yet, I'll wait for the CK to come out).

How the hell do you know what the mistakes of Skyrim are without even having played it?

I have been playing it with friends. Also, I read the forum and I have watched "Let's play" on youtube.

The first one counts, the other two are just other people's opinions of the game and should count for nothing.

Regardless, see you in January, I suppose.
