Somehow Vince Young despite three picks upsets the NY Giants. The game ball should go to Babin for creating that fumble or it's pretty likely the game would have gone to overtime. :celebration:

Damned Eagles.

Now is the time for the Giants to start falling apart. It's the second half of the season and this year's is particularly tough.

I think the Bears will knock off the Pack, either in the regular season or in the playoffs. Green Bay's defense isn't great, and Rogers WILL have an off game.

And of course hoping my Patriots will have enough on the defensive side to have a chance if they meet up in the Super Bowl. ;)

My two teams meet on Thursday, the Ravens and the 9ers. My entire family is ravens. I'm 9ers. Should be an interesting dinner...

Pats are good, but not good enough to beat the Pack, imo, No one is.

And what's the spread for the Pats game? Chiefs are baaaaad.

My thoughts exactly.

Dallas is leading the division right now! Thank you, Eagles.

He comes the "We still have a chance at the playoffs talk" form Eagles fans. They caught a break with Cutler being out for the season but even so I highly doubt the Eagles make it.

Like I said in the previous thread, the Packers are really overrated in my opinion. Their schedule was easy to start with and they're virtually guaranteed their undefeated season with Cutler's injury removing their last real competitor.

I think the Patriots on their A game could easily roll over most teams, and give even the Packers a huge challenge. If by some miracle the Patriots make it to the Super Bowl, I think the Packers could easily have a challenge to the title.

I couldn't disagree more with everything you have said. The Pack are not overrated, they are a very, very good team. The Patriots are decent offensively and below average defensively, they may end up with the #1 seed in the AFC because their schedule is so easy but I would be surprised to see them win even one playoff game this year.

We shall see who is right in a couple of months. :)

Very good team going undefeated against an absolutely easy schedule. I don't disagree with you about the Patriots though, their second half schedule is just as easy if not easier. But if you're gonna say that about the Patriots you may as well say that about the Packers. In total offense, the Packers are 500 yards better than the Patriots, but that's due to the fact that the Patriots have yet to play their game this week. In yards per game, the Patriots got them by 30. Total defense, the Patriots got em' by 200 yards, but again due to the fact that they haven't yet played their game this week that isn't really accurate. In defensive yards per game, the Packers are ahead by 20. Their offense and defense are almost par for par as good as the other. The Green Bay defense is pretty subpar this year, they win games because of Aaron Rodgers and the fact that their opponents are so weak. The Patriots have 3 losses, but they were against some hot teams.

Wins say one thing, the schedule and stats say another. But indeed, we shall see! :)

GB is 16-0 dating back to last season. Giants, Bears, Eagles, Falcons, Bears, Steelers, Saints, Panthers, Bears, Broncos, Falcons, Rams, Vikings, Chargers, Vikings, Bucs.

GB plays who is on their schedule, and their perfect record reflects both their talent and their below average opponents since the Falcons. But their performance against the Bears, Saints, and Falcons, as well as not choking against lesser opponents, makes it clear that the Packers are the best in the NFL right now.

I wouldn't say they are a legendary team, but in a league where I think there is more parity than ever, GB stands out right now.

Again, you have to account for teams playing from behind against both the Patriots and the Packers. That skews the stats category defensively. Teams are playing from behind and throwing constantly and eventually when you're playing defense so frequently you get tired and you're more susceptible for giving up yards. Both of these teams have a ridiculous offense. Rodgers is playing better than Brady and that is why the Packers are undefeated and the Patriots are not. The Bills beat the Patriots because Brady threw picks. Same with the Giants. The couldn't cover anybody against Pittsburgh. I don't see the Patriots going very far in the playoffs and the Packers won't repeat. I actually am not sold on the 49ers either. Lions still have a great chance if they can just start games in the first half instead of having to comeback. Giants have linebacker issues. Bears are done without Cutler. Saints could go far in the playoffs. Falcons could also. Of course I'll save my bias for last, the Dallas Cowboys lead their division and they're just getting better every week. Especially now that Romo is all better. A broken Romo almost beat the Patriots at New England with no running game to speak of. A healthy Romo, with Murray and I don't think there are many teams that can find an answer to that. Sure you can say that the Redskin's gave us a scare but that is just how it is in the NFC East. Look at the Eagles vs Giants game last night. Records don't matter, when you play a team that you hate and historically you're organization has hated, you play a little more... chippy. Records don't matter in those games. That's not even just the NFC East. That's any rivalry really.

You know, looking at the Playoff picture right now, there is not a team I'm afraid of the Cowboys playing with the exception of the Packers. That's AFC and NFC. Some of you may say, "What about the 49ers?" Well you see that 1 in that loss column? Yea, that's the Cowboys. :P

Gotta say, I'm loving that Channel 4 are showing games on a Sunday night/Monday morning. It's only a game a week mind, and the British commentator svcks! Kinda takes some of the fun out of watching it tbh :(

Still, Vince Young really stepped up last night didn't he? That 18-play drive was pretty damn clutch, and wound up managing the clock for them quite well! Thought Manning was onto something special in the closing minutes of the game, but that sack put the kai-bosh on that...

That's awesome that they're playing games over there. What's the fan base for American football like over there? I know they've been playing games over there the past few seasons, but I have no idea how well it's going over.

Vince Young really intrigues me.

He was Tim Tebow before Tebow was Tebow. He isn't a good quaterback, but he has "intangibles." He just wins games. But people have long dismissed Young because of his immaturity of apparent lack of skill, where as people are on the fence about Tebow because he handles himself differently.

Both dominated college, were drafted high, have high mobility, below average passing capabilities, and "just win." The only difference is their demeanor. I wonder how long Tebow can go before he is in the same, or worse, position as Young. Elway is already thinking past Tebow.

If my history is right, GB is the only team to have been unbeaten(season and playoffs including SB). And I think that was during the Bart Starr era?

Same! :)

Yeah, they only show 1 a week at a ridiculous time (1am-5am!) but for a fan, it's still better than nothing. The fan base isn't huge, it's kind of a niche sport over here, but it certainly has it's fans. At school, enough of us got into it that it was introduced into our PE class, and we even set up a league with some other schools (we were called the Shaftesbury Sharks! Haha). There are Nationwide Leagues though, which seem to be taken as seriously as they are in the US, which is really refreshing to see. I'm gonna be starting Tight End for http://www.bobcats.org.uk/, with pre-season training beginning in the new year...can't wait!

Definitely, couldn't agree more.

Nobody seems to be able to put their finger on what it is that makes/helps him 'win games'. Having said that, the Eagles' Defense won it for them last night, not Vince Young...he just kinda coasted it with consistently average passes (the 50-yarder he threw to DeSean Jackson notwithstanding...a really good pass let down by a silly taunt).

Correct, the Dolphins went 17-0 winning the Superbowl.

The Patriots had a perfect regular season, 16-0 and actually won 18 games in a row before losing in the Superbowl to finish 18-1. I myself consider that a greater achievement than the Dolphins.

The Colts were on the way to what looked like a perfect season when Dungy benched Peyton and the rest of the starters for the last two games, so they finished 14-2. I don't think any of the starters came out publicly and said anything but you could tell they were pissed. They went to the Superbowl and lost to my Saints. :) The Steelers went 15-1 in 2004.

Green Bay is looking like they could knock the Dolphins off their horse this year, and it's about time.
