A Night to Remember... Really? That was Debauchery?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 12:30 am

I was totally disappointed with this quest! The end was so anti-climatic... I didn't see any debauchery going on and Sanguine was to posh for a daedra of debauchery. So disappointing!

I like how most of the Daedra are real gentlemen. They are, after all, lords and princes.

I was able to skip most phases by passing speech checks so maybe I missed all the good stuff. Yeah, seemed underwhelming to me as well.

The first time I did the quest I passed all the speech checks too. The next time I purposely didn't. So I got to: 1) clean up the mess in the temple 2) rescue a goat from a giant- quite a task as a level 13 wielding mace/shield! 3) fight a hagraven who wants to "consummate your marriage"

The thing about this quest is that the title is ironic. You don't remember last night, and that's when all the debauchery happened. Now you're retracing your steps and fixing your problems. Judging based on the amount of empty wine bottles in Morvunskar, you did have a pretty epic party with Sanguine. You just can't remember it!

My favorite quest and you have a way of seeing the big picture. It's also my favorite reward. Good ol' Uncle Sanguine. :tes:

I need to do this quest again.

First time I did it, I fast traveled to whiterun cause I was working on something there. Bumped into Ysolde and she progressed the quest past a good chunk of it so I missed all that stuff.

I accidentally skipped the whole thing, or most of it.

- Woke up in Markarth and cleaned up
- Suddenly got a quest to fetch a new priestess for the temple... okay...
- Fetched the priestess, got sidetracked a few times, got sick of it all, went back to Whiterun...
-...and bumped into Ysolde, who advanced the quest to the end.

(I know the new priestess quest was unrelated, but it all kind of got mashed together).

I liked this quest.

first play through I met Sam in White run to begin the quest, the Second playthrough I met him in Rorikstead to initiate the quest. Both ended the same except while I was picking up the 'garbage' from the Temple for not passing the speech check the Items got glitched in my inventory, and it never finished that part of the quest until I went and met with Sanguine.

I liked this quest though, lots of loot along the way to a great looking reward

The quest was great in my opinion. Sanguine is a total bro.

It does'nt seem anti climactic to me.
It was obviously a epic night of debauchery.

I can't be bothered with all the fuss. I pay people off and clean up the temple.

I like Sanguine.

But I don't like that quest.

The other deadric quests you are in control most of the time.
That you're tricked into making a fool of yourself.
It's not funny to me.

I like the fact that Sanguine's a drunk who looks really scary... but he's not. He's just a drunk.

Well, it may be a little light on the debauchery because of the way Bethesda is about six in this game. I figure we were harassing the chicks in the Temple of Dibella trying to get them to have six with us especially since they don't allow men into the Inner Sanctum.

The rest of the quest involved theft and coyote almost-six. :P

I thought it was the coolest quest in the game.

Same here. I didn't realize that I had missed the whole goat and wedding thing until the quest had ended.

Yup. Me too! It's filling in the blanks with one's imagination that makes this more than just another forgettable daedra quest.

Yeah, A Night to Remember is one I don't put off. As soon as I see Sam I go for it because I'm afraid the quest will bug and I'll never get the opportunity, plus it fits that for that quest I'd be distracted from whatever I was doing to drink instead.

FWIW: I've never even used the staff, but, man is it cool-looking.

I have been doing things differently with this character, and then I got caught up in the different quests that I had not done before.

I wonder what my husband will think of me after this night out

My other character did not use the staff, I think this one will do.

I didnt mcuh care for this quest, run all over the place, then spend 2 minutes at each location. If there was actually something to do, it might have been better.

You know, I carried that thing around for weeks and never actually used it. I suppose it would suit a mage character best.

I liked it well enough. As mentioned, yeah, the best stuff is all the things your PC was black out drunk for. Which is kinda disappointing but honestly Sanguine is such a nice fella that it's hard to be upset over it. And for God's sake, he's essentially the Daedric Prince of Partying. If there any Prince I'd want to go have a night on the town with and be completely incapable of remembering any of it, it would be him.

Also, while it was a lot of running around, I like how a lot of the Daedric Princes in Skyrim you just kind of stumble upon without really realizing it's them at first. Compared to Oblivion and Morrowind where you had to go find their statues and stuff, in Skyrim, they meddle directly because they're a fun bunch of guys and gals!
