A normal day in your life

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 6:45 pm

This seems like a real diverse community, so this could be interesting maybe.... Mine consists of a 10 hour shift working in a warehouse, then grocery shopping on the way home and the remaining time I hang out with family and friends, play Skyrim or browse the web.

What are your days like? What do you do? Etc

Well, I wake up in the morning feelin' like P. Diddy at about 7am. Gotta go downstairs gotta eat cereal. Then I get confused about which seat to take. Sometimes I get a phone call saying I left my stuff on the counter and I reply 'It wasn't me.' I go through the morning in a haze, I generally can't think of anything else but some afternoon delight. I get that 2:30 feeling afterwards but take a 5-Hour Energy and the work kickstarts again.

When I get home, I look at my girl, then back at me, then back at her, now back at me. I'm in a suit.

Normal day monday to friday:
Wake up at 0630 and take a shower, brush me teeth etc.
Eat just after that.
Take the bus or, if I start later that day, the train to school.
Normally school from 0825 to 1525, though I have some free hours within.
When I gt home I sit down a write for an hour or two, and after that I do homework if I have any that needs to be done.
Then I log inot these forums and on skype chatting with others til I go to bed. Sometimes I play a game while I do so.
Before I go to bed I tend to do some basic exercises like push-ups and situps.

A few times a week I work out(though i have not been allowed to do so the last 2 weeks. Had a small operation)

Don't do it for too long, though: if you start to feel stressed, time to ease off a bit. I didn't, and after a few years ended up not being able to do it at all (okay, 11 hours 'til the time I returned home, but much the same thing.)

Weekdays: Wake up at 6AM, make toast and get ready (shirt & tie), leave for the bus at 7AM, get into work around 8:20AM.
During work I: Come on here, eat my banana/apple around 9:30-10:00AM, do some coding and visit here, eat my crisps/sweetie around 11:30AM-12:00PM, go for lunch about 2:00PM, do more work then at 3:00PM I speak to my mentor about any work I don't understand/need another persons view of. and then I leave at 4:00-4:15PM, I don't return home untill around 5:40-6:20PM because buses are slow.
After work I: take the shirt and tie off and sit around the house in shorts, eat my dinner and deicde whether to spend my night on xbox or the PC or even watch TV and annoy everyone else in the house.
Some Friday nights after work I go for a shower and straight out to the pub and don't return until 3:00-6:00AM.

Get up at 6, maybe eat cereal or drink tea, walk to school, learn stuff, eat some snack, go home, eat lunch, drink tea, do assignments, homework, etc, play games or just be on the Internet, drink tea, read something, eat dinner, go to sleep at 10.

It depends on the day. During the week I will usually stay at home and browse the Internet and enjoy my Video Games. I'll read a few books or research topics that interest me. On Thursday I do my grocery shopping at the supermarket and look around the shops. On the weekend I might go and visit the Museum or Art Gallery and every now and then Valerie will come and visit me with the grandkids for lunch. It's enjoyable enough, if a bit boring sometimes.

Aren't those normal working hours? Or close to normal working hours?

8am - 5pm is a normal work day here. 9 hours. Usually with a 1 hour break.

9AM - 5PM (8Hours) is the norm here, with a half hour or full hour break. (If it was an hours lunch then finishing time would be 5:30)

I think you start at 9am so people can get to work on time right? Due to commuting. Not that's not a problem here too. <_< To get somewhere at 8am, I'd have to wake up at 6am.

Well right now I'm inprocessing at my first duty station so I head into work at around 7 on most days and then just go around base taking care of different paper work and such.

Then I'll have all kinds of classes I'll have to go to and training before I can even touch a jet.

But from what I can tell from the avionics guys in my unit, they work long hours. Often at least 12 hours, sometimes up to 15, often times 7 days a week, they rarely get time off, and yeah there's no overtime of course. Haha. In the morning after roll call they sign out tool kits and a person called an expediter will assign jobs to people as they do goes on. They'll troubleshoot and fix / replace the avionics components all day. There will be a flying schedule and jets have to be ready to fly that schedule... After jets come down pilots will note any issues they had and there will be more troubleshooting and fixing.

I'm excited to get out there, but everyone I've talked to said they absolutely hate it, and I'll hate it soon too. Hope that's not the case, but we'll see. It's pretty exciting to see everything in action though. I mean it's crazy being around as they F-15's take off, it's so loud that your body and the ground shake... LOL.

I don't see how that would work? 9AM is like standard for what must be like 75% of the populace here, sure the motorways are busy but that's rush hour for you, which is between 8-9AM and 5-6PM when most people are going to work and home from work.
The bus journey I take is only so long because my office is in another city

Wake up, go to the bathroom, get on the computer, browse the web a bit, come here, play SWTOR until I have to go to work between 4 and 5, come home and play some more SWTOR.

This has been what it has been this whole week, replace SWTOR with other games on occasion.

if( weather->nice == true ) runaround();
If Weather.Nice then RunAround()

Or

If(wather.nice == true) RunAround();
Your syntax is wrong :P
