Not excited by the DLC

Post » Sun Jun 24, 2012 11:30 am

To be honest I'm not too excited about Dawnguard. Vampires and 10-20 hours of gaming?

Pfft, with all the time they've took to bring it out (aaaages) I was expecting to have a huge new map to explore (all of Morrowind and Cyrodill at the very least) and 100 hours of gaming or more.

I am also annoyed that TESO is for PC and Mac only. I don't have a PC or Mac. I don't like PC and Macs. I want to play it on my PS3. I want to explore all of Tamriel on my PS3. Well at least Xbox 360 users are getting to feel the disappointment for once that PS3 users endure on a regular basis.

I still haven't got over the whole Skyrim PS3 debacle. I loved Oblivion to the point that I played over 1000 hours on it. I was so looking forward to Skyrim and waited aaaaaages on it coming out. Then once 50-60 hours into Skyrim it was the whole 'freeze, glitch, freeze, won't play' nonsense. I cried. Boo hoo, where's my mummy?

I think to make it up to all the mistreated and aggrieved PS3 users (why am I waiting longer for Dawnguard than Xbox 360 users ? Oh that's right, money) the hard work and effort should be put in to make sure TESO comes to PS3 and Xbox 360 users in 2013. Well June 2013 for PS3 and July 2013 for Xbox 360

Reguardless this dlc will prove to me if bethesda rushed skyrim, Or if they are incapible of making content that has a good story and depth anymore.

CONSOLE PLAYERS ARE NOT MISTREATED AND AGGRIEVED ANY MORE THAN ARE PC PLAYERS. NOBODY HAS A RIGHT TO ANYTHING MORE THAN IS SPELLED OUT IN THE EULA.

Oy. This generation...

Get over it, the DLC has more then enough stuff worth paying 20 dollars for, If you dont like it go buy dragon age 1 or 2 and compare the length of that too the length of this DLC.

I'm indifferent. More content is nice, but it's not like that DLC is a big deal to me. I'm sure I'll enjoy it, but feel no need to be excited about something I can download later this year.

You expected a big new map and 100+ hours of gameplay? That wouldnt be DLC...it would be a whole new game. And if they did release it as a DLC, it would cost 40+ dollars. Don't be ridiculous...and come on...Im calling BS on you playing Oblivion for over 1000 hours...if you did that then you honestly have no life and thats pretty sad.

I can see you've never played a Bethesda DLC. Your thoughts are your own, but many of the ideas you've stated I would have to disagree with.

And I played Oblivion for more than 1000 hours, but I was 14? When I played it.

For advertising purposes they explained at E3 that Dawnguard was 10-20 hours of gameplay.

They said skyrim was about a 30 hour game when it first came out, and there are people (like me) who have put nearly 400-500 hours into it.

And Oblivion was released in 2006. Yes, someone can have a life and play a bloody game while clocking in 1000 hours. Besides, RELEASED IN 2006!

Don't Judge the expansion by those VERY underestimated #'s

Also have to keep in mind they said thats for both of the main storylines if you finish one and reload a previous save and do the other.

They didn't include the side quests for both factions and the soul cairn side quests..and the misc quests and they haven't even revealed to us what the second new area is, they just said there would be another other than the soul cairn so that area prolly has side quests and misc quests..

In my day we called them expansions. You may have heard of them.

And OP, you don't need to worry about not getting TESO on the consoles, from everything I've seen and heard about it it's going to be pretty forgettable.

Didn't I assassinate you at some point?

But seriously even with the simpler combat mechanics than other standard mmo's, ESO is still an mmo and isn't really console compatible.

As for the dlc it's more than 20 hours. Yes the new quests introduced may only take u 20 hours to do but the new vampire transformation and vamp and werewolf perk trees introduce whole new ways of playing the game. You could easily go back and do all other quest lines as a VL and it would be a very different game.

Since when is a DLC or an Expansion suppose to be a whole new game? I don't think I've ever got an expansion that was as big as or bigger then the game it was made for.

TES:O is an MMO. Why should they port it to consoles? It would require limitations to the game, something that is generally frowned upon with MMOs. Just get a PC like everybody else, or simply don't complain. If you want to complain about this, go to the TESO forums.

all the mistreated and aggrieved PS3 users (why am I waiting longer for Dawnguard than Xbox 360 users ? Oh that's right, money)

If Sony offered Bethesda money (or more money than MS), PS3 would have the 30 day exclusive, but they don't. I don't see how you can complain for businesses being smart, if you were in their position you would do the same thing. Money makes the world go 'round, this isn't anything new.

To be honest I'm not too excited about Dawnguard. Vampires and 10-20 hours of gaming?

Then don't buy it.

You actually thouught you'll get a landmass of Morrowind or Cyrodil? How long did it take to make Skyrim? A few years I believe. To make the other landmasses will take years to make.
You know what screw it. You're just mad that you'll have to wait longer. That's understandable but to troll for that reason is not.

If you choose to have ridiculously unrealistic expectations then you're bound to be dissapointed.
I mean come on, the size of Cyrodill and morrowind? Really?

Also; Yeah, Xbox gets the DLC first, and Yeah it's down to money.
Why is this so hard for people to accept? Bethesda are a business not a charity. Ofcourse they'll favour the side that pays them, and if you were in their position you'd do exactly the same. I'm sure of it.
Since you clearly have to blame someone then you should really be blaming Sony for choosing not to pay the extra to Bethesda.

EDIT: Partially ninja'd by virtuousus

Don't pull Dragon Age into this flamebait troll thread. At least, not Origins.
