Oblivion vs. Skyrim?

Every game for me has been better than the last, however that doesn't stop me from missing the old ones. same thing happened with morrowind amd ob. While the majority of the game is vastly improved, some small details are changed or removed. So as each new game comes out I fall in love again, but nothing makes me forget the days spent wandering in cyrrodil or vaardenfell....each game is special in its owm way and the memories from playing Mw and ob as a young man I will never forget.

I suggest playing them all from the start of the console versions, in order. Play Mw, then ob, then skyrim amd you will have great memories to last a life time.

Going back from skyrim to Mw is quite a technological jump though. like i said many aspects have been greatly improved, amd i mean many. That doesn't stop Mw from being just as magical though. Nor oblivion imo.

Oblivion's not bad at all and is a great game, although it is different in some aspects from Skyrim. Oblivion does have problems with Level Scaling but that shouldn't take away from the fun of that game.

Skyrim = MUCH MUCH better voice acting. To me, voice acting alone is VERY important. Better everything. Awesome DUAL equipping/casting

Oblivion = was a great game with trillions of mods and I played it for 100's of hours. My computer can barely play Skyrim, but I couldn't possibly return to Oblivion.

Lore wise, I prefer Oblivion. Something about the MQ really intrigued me. Game wise? I really couldn't tell you. I swear by Oblivion just because of spell crafting. It's pathetic of me, but it makes all the difference.

Oblivion and Skyrim are two of my favorite games, but I have to go with Oblivion. Seems like Oblivion had a better variation of quests along with better writing, plus I miss the gladiator style arena! The DLC for Oblivion was great. Knights of the Nine was fun and Shivering Isles was spectacular! Like a whole other game. The Dark Brotherhood was alot more fun for me in Oblivion too. I don't know, just seemed like there were alot more fun quests and not as much "go here and fetch this, then bring it back here and do this" type of quests like there are in Skyrim.

Skyrim is amazing and is right up there but if I'm picking favorites it has to be Oblivion.

I think Skyrim would have been a better game if some of the fed-ex / go kill x quests had been cut, and the faction questlines had been expanded upon. Some of the dungeon quests were well done (and some had me laughing), and the Civil War quest was well-done except for the aftermath and the faction wonkiness. I have a serious bone to pick with the MQ - it broke suspension of disbelief several times, and aside from the good start and coolness of fighting dragons, I consider it inferior to Oblivion's MQ in every way.
