I do this weird thing with my mouth and pop my ears constantly when I get stressed or nervous...

I twirl my hair, not as much as I used to, but still can't lose this stupid habit.

Er... I scratch my head when I'm anxious.

Also, I call my dogs cute and/or strange names. Like, lately I have taken to adding "pie" at the end of my dog's names. So... Muffin-pie (or Muffin-pie-in-the-sky), or North-pie, or corgi-pie. Corgle, corgster, girly-pie (for Muffin), girly-whirly (for Muffin), boyboy (for North), mister-mister-man (for North), Nerp-nerp (for North).... yeah...

Oh, and I bounce my leg a lot when I'm sitting - you know, bouncing your knee? Anyway, I tend to do that a lot sometimes, totally without thinking.

I used to chew on my shirt collar when I was thinking really hard, like for a test. I still catch myself doing it sometimes.

I fold my ear soft skin into the middle to get it warmer when it's cold... When people realise what I'm doing, they try to do it but their ears have besome harder over time and they can't. I guess I've been doing this since I was a kid and kept it soft!

I scratch my nose when I'm in an awkward situation or one of those silent moments with people I don't really know.

I do that when nervous. Looks like I'm humping the chair.

If I have any piece of string or a cable running down my body I start to make this knot again and again untying it each time with one hand and I don't even notice it. It's become such a practiced motion just unconsciously that I′m actually a little freaked out about it. It's something I've paid no heed to learning how to do but just started to do it and if I ask someone else to try and do it they never seem to be able to do it with just one hand, so it's like I've been training the motor skills of my hands unconsciously.

Now I wouldn't mind this much though if it wasn't for the fact that when I have a headset on, I have a cable running down my body. I've murdered a good amount of headsets by abusing their wires without noticing it over the year and usually there are about 1 - 2 casualties a year :(

I think it's time to find a wireless headset but I never seem to find one that I′m happy with. I need something that has a decent mic on it so I can skype and such and has good quality and is comfortable (I like big headsets that cover the ears, not those puny small ones that are a mixed breed between classic headsets and those earplug ones). Anyone have any suggestions for a wireless headset now that I′m mentioning this ?

I do both of these, usually when I'm focused on something and not paying attention to what the rest of me is doing. :P

Some of my shirt collars have so many holes in them I'm too embarrassed to wear them anymore.

It's also hard for me to sit perfectly still. Whenever I'm sitting here reading stuff on the internet, or just thinking about stuff, I'm usually twirling a pen or bouncing a ball on my desk or something. It's hard for me to just sit and focus on one thing that doesn't require movement.

I actively broke pretty much all my (bad) habits over the past six or so months. I can't really think of any odd ones.

Whenever I leave the house and lock the door, I try to open it just to make I locked it before I leave.

My friend calls his dog Stacey, Stacey-poo-pie-pony-puppy. It annoys the hell out of me.

I randomly lay on the floor and spin in circles in the kitchen. My mom hates it.

Bounce leg.
Pop knuckles.
Grind my teeth when I'm thinking.
Drum on things with my hands or just fingers.
Lately at work, I will start clacking my steak tongs together. Drives the Baker nuts. She always grabs the tongs so I quit.

I do that.

Also related, I look to see if the door is locked before lieing down to go to bed. As soon as I start to drift off .... "which way was the dead bolt facing?" ... *get up look again. Ok it's locked lie back down, "wait, I'm half asleep, did I really take a good look?". Get back up, this time walk up to the door, try to turn the handle, and pull on it. Oddly enough I've always lived in safe neighborhoods, so much so that growing up I knew a lot of people that never even locked their door, so I'm not sure where it came from. It rareoly happens now, but used to drive me insane.

Also, when I'm driving, I will repeat license plate numbers that I see to myself. I don't know why. And I get distracted easy by shiny things or if I see movement out of the corner of my eye. That makes girlfriends irritated, especially during a serious conversation.

Crack my joints.
svck on my collar.
Bounce my knee.
Whenever I'm on any sort of transport (car, bus, train etc) I always sit on the left hand side. I tried sitting on the right once and it just felt wrong :/.
