Vampires want to block out the sun, and you have to stop them. I would like there to be the ability to join them and block it but if you think about it, that would ruin the whole game and be an automatic endgame.
So an Elder Scroll can close the sun? And if the sun were closed, would magic be unusable?
If you block out the sun, everything in Skyrim would die, so saving the world from Alduin was pointless as everything would die anyway. It would also destroy the visuals of Skyrim that Bethesda spent so long creating.

Has anyone considered that 'blocking out the sun' is a special ability or once-a-day power?
An ability to cause an eclipse effect allowing the character to walk about during daylight hours?

Naysayers: "If I can block out the sun then all of Nirn will die and the game will end! Why'd we stop Alduin?! OMG Beth is soooo stupid!" :ahhh:
Seriously? Is this how some think of sun blockage rather than, perhaps, a once-a-day power?

No matter the subject, it seems some are never happy unless they're unhappy.
Odd, that.

What?
On the ES the city logos are red.

Glad folks are enjoying it! This one was a ton of fun to make.
Indeed, Thanks! :D

U noticed the Vampire leader stand beside a statue of Molag Bal , as he made the vampires, he might be involved somehow.
Molag Bal did [censored] a woman that spawned the first vampires IIRC.

Over the post limit and we keep on truckin'
Ive seen bigger...

Pm me your email.
Why?

So some of us were right on speculation just yesterday me and some other guy speculated that the Dawnguard was a group of Vampire Hunters, most likely worshipers of Meridia. Then a Vampire Cult, that you can be apart of just as you can be apart of the Dawnguard.

Now i know my speculation is correct, and my god the Vampire's are epic looking

O and the crossbows!! And the new Armour!!! And the new mount!!!

I'm in love...

If I can become one of those Vampire Lords(?)... well let's just say that Tamriel is going to see a whole new kind of evil.

I'm wondering whether you have completed the main quest to start Dawguard or not, since the elder scroll seem to be a major quest item.

There would also be a problem if you gave the Scroll to the Librarian in the Mages collage.

I wish I could get as excited as these other players, but the sad fact is I can't. Not when Bethesda cheats PS3 and PC players by taking Microsoft's dirty bribe money to keep it "exclusive" for thirty days. It's a real slap in the face to all those gamers who don't have an Xbox because it's a [censored] system designed by an equally [censored] company.

It's really a shame that Bethesda can't rise above petty corporate greed and say no, this is our game and we want to treat all players equally by giving them new material at the same time. Thanks for being part of the problem instead of the solution, Beth.

All devoted to vampires? No buy for me... I was hoping to visit someplace around Skyrim, get myself involved in the political struggles of the dieing empire.

Bethesda listened to much to the vocal part of the fanbase asking for vampire... as there weren't enough movies, tv dramas, books about this.

Seriously, I'm disappointed

Hello msxyz! How have you been doing?

Indeed it is plausible Beth paid due notice to the vocal majority around here and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that in and of itself. That's why I chose to post my disenchantment with the whole vampiresque burlesque theme park they appear to have gone with. Who knows, perhaps they'll listen to the vocal minority

Then buy an Xbox and quit [censored]ing. Don't complain because Bethesda *gasp* did what any smart business would do in a competitive industry.

Hate the game, not the player.

Simple.

This looks wonderfully gothic!

I was just thinking this =).

Not a big fan of vampires, but I've always enjoyed killing them. No Vampahkiin for me.

Wait a minute.. Markarth and Solitude?
Markarth contains the shrines of Molag Bal and Namira, whilst Solitude is present with Sheogorath and Queen Potema.
They're all somewhat evil (with the exception of Sheo, but he just wants a bit of fun) plus Molag created Vamps.
Coincidence?! Probably..

Bethesda accepted a contract that got them
Money to develop this expansion. I dont blame bethesda for accepting it.

If anyone is playing greed it is microsoft for offering the contract in the first place.

Now back to topic :)

Hi VaL of Purple'! Nice to see you.

I'm expecting the odd Bethesda currency system to price the game at 19.99€ then. A tad too steep, with this economy. Someone should inform them we're in deep recession. For that price, I'm expecting 1/3 of Skyrim's content, roughly 100 hours worth of gameplay, 1/3 of the landmass, etc.

I love this video, can't wait for this to release for PC! Looks like its Gamejam's Vampire Lords v. a new Vampire Hunter faction called the Dawnguard. Can't wait to kill some foul undead in the name of the Dawnguard!

Looks great! Digging the new features (crossbow, vampire kill cams etc). And to all those saying "This feature is missing! That feature is missing!"... The first Skyrim trailer didn't show every feature or every bit of the game. In fact, it showed a teeny tiny bit.

There's more than one Elder Scroll, you know. I'm not sure how many there actually are, but there's definitely more than one.

Edit: Okay, apparently nobody knows how many Elder Scrolls there are. UESPwiki says this:

The number of the Scrolls is unknown not because of their immense quantity, but because the number itself is unknowable, as the Scrolls "do not exist in countable form". After rumors circulated following the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Oblivion_Crisis that a Scroll was stolen from the Imperial Library by the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Thieves_Guild, efforts to take inventory of the Scrolls proved fruitless as their numbers and placement in the Library seem to fluctuate for no discernible reason.
