It's Official no gear stripping in DLC

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 10:28 am

Hm, good and bad.
I guess it's good to not be stripped if one wants to have certain items with you but on the other hand it also means that you'll probably enter with the best arsenal you got and only use it and not give the other weapons a try.
Should be like Pitt, that the gear is stolen for the first third of the DLC then you get it back and during the first third you'll have had to use the new weapons and might have grown a little more fond of them.

But I'll strip myself down completely to one light armor or clothing, one mid-tier weapon and some caps, nothing else.
Wouldn't want to enter with a crapload of equipment anyway.

Have fun saving before every VATS shot.

Thank God. Thats the one of the many things I hated about DM. Still only bringing an Assault Carbine with 2000 rounds and some light armor.

So what is this Weight Limit I hear? Like how much will we be allowed to carry? Is it going to be like 60-180 or higher (or lower)?
Depending on the weight limit, I'll probably bring this to Zion
Remnant's Power Armor (or Assassin Suit if needed)
100 stimpacks
All of the ammo I have
12.7mm SMG
Q-35 Matter Modulator
.44 Mag Revolver
Dinner Bell
Brush Gun
Holorifle
Anti-Materiel Rifle
And the Automatic Rifle (if there is room)

So who else is intrigued by the sound of Lonesome Road? I think that's awesome. I imagine a really long road that gets increasingly dangerous with storms and enemies until the finally at the Divide with Ulysses. I'm excited.

I always travel light anyways, very light, under 70 in total. I'm looking forward for HH.

I really wonder how the carry limit is going to work out for me... I'm using a mod to already limit carry to 170 with 8 strenght... I spent quite a bit of time to sort all my stuff so I can bring my usual weapons, light armor and fat man and missile launcher for fun

That's nice, but really doesn't matter to me.

I recently stored all my regular gear and got a few items that are very, very easily found. Just some leather armor, a 9mm, and a service rifle. I'm gonna travel light anyway and most likely rely heavily on the items in the DLC.

I probably won't take any armor with me, I'll take a 12.7mm SMG, all my stimpacks, and all my caps. If I really want to I can ditch the SMG at some point during play. I have plenty of them in the Novac safe as it is.

That Gun for vermin killing.
Tri-beam Laser Rifle for people-killing.
Hunting Rifle (fully modded) for long-distance people-killing.
Gauss Rifle for yao guai killing.

Assassins Suit
The only thing I wear in the Mojave, a perfect mix of mobility and armor. It's got 6 good size ammo pouches, knee pads, flak protection, everything. Just need another one for Cassidy :hubbahubba:

Slave Scarf (hood)
A nice boost of perception, no head protection, but it's easy to shoot with, and you can't use a cheek pad with a Veteran Ranger Helmet.

Hunting Rifle
w/ Scope, Extended Magazine, and a Custom Action
4 mags of Jacketed Soft Points, and 2 mags of Armor Piercing Rounds for harder targets (60 rounds total)

9mm pistol
No scope or extended mags, has to be lightweight and easily concealed/drawn for emergencies. (will be tossed as soon as I snag one of Graham's 1911s)
2 mags of +P ammunition (26 rounds total)

Chance's Knife
For when my sidearm goes click instead of bang, or someone needs to be dispatched without their friends knowing.

I was going to travel light anyway for the challenge, I'm going to take my basic stuff like stims and weaker weapons such as service rifle and police pistol as I don't want to blow them a way with anti-material rifle, brush gun, alien blaster and this machine.

Have fun saving before every VATS shot.

Why would I save before every shot? (And I don't use VATS.)

This is awesome news first because its Point lookout exploring style, and second because we don't get our gear taken away, but like most other people I'm probably going to travel very light. I really cant wait for these DLC's. :twirl:

Ahh, a weight limit. Now that is a creative idea. I carry just under 50 pounds anyway so I should be good.

I'm curious what the reason for the weight limit is. Obviously there will be some sort of reason why the character has to travel light and I want to know what it is...since the PSN probably won't be up in my region by Tuesday (northeast U.S. though already has it) I hope people in the regions where the psn works will actually bother to tell us poor people that won't yet be able to play it how the dlc is.

I'm going in with Lucky, Sniper, Love and Hate, Cowboy Repeater, Dapper Gambler Suit, Beret, and sunglasses. (along with stimpacks, ammo, books, caps, and a carton of cigs). Hopefully I will be able to bring all that.

cool. Honestly i wouldn't complain if you did or didn't get to keep your stuff, It is pretty cool that we can jump in with guns blazin' for the next few DLCs though :gun:

You don't know how helpful it would have been if they could have at least said what the maximum weight limit is when you start HH.

I want to be able to carry like three guns; 2 rifles, 1 rev. plus a bunch of ammo and a realistic amount of stimpacks.

you should be all good because, stims & ammo don't affect "carry weight" anyway. unless youre playin in hardcoe mode. personally, it's the armor weight i'm worried about. i like running around, juggernaut-like, punishing with my fist, any life form that irritates me.

"I am the right hand of the Lord, and the instrument of his vengeance."
sounds like something "Ned"(aka- Eddard Stark) from the show, "game of thrones" would say.

Actually 3 dlc's that are open world. And there maybe be more. I know I will buy every dlc they come up with for Fallout games.
