official word from Bethesda?

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 3:01 am

lol and I love how still no official word from them. Is it so hard? Just a sticky. 'Hey, guys. Sorry. We made some mistakes here. We're working on it. A fix for ___ and ___ and ___ and ___ ad infinitum is being worked on. Bear with us. We're putting out the fires.' Surely there must someone with enough business sense at Bethesda to realize this. Has no one sat down there and said, 'Okay, whoa, we've taken people's money here. There's people out there who are just installing the game for the first time who don't know about the patches who will think dragons are supposed to fly backwards. I think it's time to bite the bullet, show some [censored] respect and work with these people.' No. Nothing but arrogant, nerdy [censored] silence. Get. A. Fkn. Grip. Bethesda. You need a PR firm. If you've got a PR firm, fire them, because they're as borked as you are.

The part about fresh users that have no idea these forums or any issues of any kind even exist yet that are so excited (just as we all were) installing the game, rubbing their hands thinking about how friggin awesome it's going to be, get far enough into the game waiting for that first epic sight and combat with a big ass wicked Dragon HELL YES!.... woah..... W T F? ....

I agree with the op. It's very frustrating to have all these problems and get nothing but complete silence from Bethesda. I don't understand. How hard is it to just post something on here to let people know something, anything, is being done?

Yeah, I seriously wish they'd let us know something - just an acknowledgement that they know about the problems we're seeing and that they are working to get them resolved as soon as possible would be nice.

I would hope they're to busy working hard and fixing things then browsing the forums.

Bethesda doesn't even have a bug_report@bethesda.com. A simple e-mail to report bugs. Something. Anything. These forums, I don't believe they actually come here. If they do, they must be too lazy to sign up for an account to post with. The complete lack of communication is pathetic. I see no passion in this industry. People who make games should love games, and talk with others who love games. Instead there's a huge invisible wall between us and them, and a total and complete lack of concern for the paying consumer. What a [censored] joke.

Yeah, when I read the "list" for patch 1.2 I was like, "do they even READ these forums?" I didn't see any of the major issues listed, but instead some crap about npc sleeping animations. Who CARES about npc sleeping animations??? lol You have multitudes of users not able to play the game and telling you about it right in your forums and you fix stupid crap like this?

The only Bethesda people that have posted at all today are moderators threatening people. You'll probably get the same in this thread. Don't worry, you can click Lady Summer's driveway link in her signature for the funsies hehehehe kekekeke!

Any employee who checks out the Unofficial Skyrim project on 16 bugs will see the over 400 bugs (many of which are critical) in the game. I don't expect them to fix all 400 bugs, but the critical ones that prevent one from moving along in quests need to be fixed. As for the communication, I can echo that I have never seen any Bethesda employee or moderator post anything with regards to patch information, etc.

I would hope they're to busy working their asses off and fixing things then browsing the forums.

1.2 is the obvious answer to that on two levels. One, they obviously don't read these forums because the list of "fixes" doesn't reflect the problems the multitudes have been pointing out. Two, they should be reading these forums so they fix things that will allow people to have an enjoyable experience instead of fixing fing "rare" npc sleeping animations. Could we please focus on the "NON" rare game breaking problems before we tackle the idiotic ones?

I agree with Adam. What bothers me most is that they made this a major release "1.2" as opposed to "1.1x". The bugs listed here are hardly worth calling a major release. I mean, look at Terraria 1.0 and 1.1. There's a huge world of difference!

Yes, there has been some communication from Bethesda about 1.2, it's just not what you might want to hear...

Bought Skyrim.

First stealth patch comes out and breaks 4gb issue. (Got the work around but meh)

So I reinstalled Morrowind and got it modded to 2011 levels.

Waiting for the CK on Skyrim before I play for real.

Developers work on fixing the game. Community management browsers the forum. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Agreed. This one reason reason why I like Bioware developers so much, though I don't like the direction they've taken their games, they interact in their forums regularly there. When serious issues arise with their games and they are posted in their forums, you'd many responses and acknowledgments from the Bioware devs there. Here's a very in depth interaction example; when Bioware released its final DLC for Dragon Age: Origins, it has a serious issue with not acknowledging choices made in the main game through the save. They even asked/invited players to test a fix while sending in copies of their saves to get it right, within a week, they had it fixed.

Beth could learn a lot from that kind of PR, at least interacting here every now and again.

Yes it is the utmost bs for them to not even make a statement. They must not be "allowed" to or something, cause if I worked for beth, put so much time and hours of my life into a game I would damn sure look at the forums. See whats up. I would comment and talk with the community, if I made anything that so many people like so much, I would love to hear peoples feedback. If there were lots of bugs in something that I had a part in creating, I would want to fix those things. I don't see how NO ONE from the dev team or anything can get off their butt and say like a TEN WORD SENTENCE just to let us know that the problems with the game are going to be fixed. Just so I know someday I might be able to finish so and so quest, or I am just screwed. You know? Is optimization ever going to be fixed, or am I going to have to overclock my damn i3 just to get rid of the sickening stuttering/fps drops to play this game?

Anyone ever hear of Frontlines: Fuel Of War? It was FPS, 3 or 4 years ago. I played it and was active on the forums. The devs were active on the forums. And they were high up. To give you an example, it's a good sign when the person talking to you is in the first top 10 people in the credits. The game was ruled by the community. Loved it.
