It's a glitch that can be exploited. It's not cheating, because this is a single player game. The only person you'd be cheating is yourself.

IMO nothing is "cheating" in skyrim since it IS a single player game so the only one the exploits affect is you. But i personally don't like using that particular exploit because it takes all the fun out of the game.

I think it's nooby to use that glitch, even though it's a single player game.

My first playthrough I did legit.

Now I did a playthrough and got this book right away, took me about 2 hours. I didn't spend a single perk or level up until I had it. Used the book of oblivion exploit to get enough gold to buy the house in whiterun and made a save.

Now I use that save to constantly play around with new characters. For me this is the most fun I have with skyrim. I am still trying to make my perfect character and there are so many combinations I'm having a blast. I'll make a mage one day, play her for a few hours than delete her and make something else. I have no desire to start a toon at level 1 again and go through all those beginning quests.

The only regret is that I'm stuck on one race. I made an imperial but would like to try some other races so maybe I should do this with each race and make a save. Hmmm something to think about.

As others have said, its a single player game so don't use the exploits if you don't want too. I for one am glad its in there.

But...a noob wouldn't even know about the exploit/cheat.

Um, i think using exploits is cheating so there ya have it. But it's a single player game so noone's gonna be hurt because you use it except the fun u could be having while leveling.

Again, you can't cheat in single-player games. The only person you're cheating is yourself.

it is bug abusing.

It's useful for RPing character that is not weak when he/she went to Skyrim on Console.

I will NEVER touch that book or quest again. It destroyed my main character, glitched her out. Made it seem I wasn't really that level... I am devasted I had to delete that. Glitches everywhere.

I was stuck in Sneak Mode, couldn't get out of it. It never even said I was in sneak it just appeared I was and I moved increeeeeedibly slow.

Please, just don't do that stupid book glitch. It isn't worth it

To late I already did and beat the game at level 71 with crap enchantments, lucky my character didn't glitch but I don't regert doing it because sure I got the level 50 achievement by doing this glitch but any other achievement I got legit even dragon slayer because there's really no level requirement to beat the game I think I heard of someone beating their game in mid 20s. I do plan on doing a new play-though no exploiting of any kind, level legit and trying no to do any main quest expect up until I get fus ro doh and maybe dragonrend but I can do fine without dragonrend as I did all the way to level 41.


No whats this thing I'm hearing about book of oblivion about getting gold? or did that guy meant the oghma?

My next play-though which I probably start now no way I can hold of until dg comes out for pc but this time sure I be leveling slow w/o exploiting.

I first started exploiting with the archery trainer in Riverwood, then I stop there until I did the riften speech exploit which took quite a while, and finally well you know what the next one is.

I just want to know one more thing too, which has nothing to do with the book, but if I were to use the Illusion Ability, 'Muffle' and just continuously use that until like level 80 illusion. Is that counted as an exploit?

The ohgma infinium thing is FINE, it does not need to be fixed, considering a lot of people have had their saves corrupted, this glitch saves the player HUNDREDS of hours, so they ont have to redo everything because of an update that ruined their save file. For example, one of my level 68 characters started freezing everywhere, every five minutes, so i just remade the same character, did the glitch, got the stats back to where the were post freezy save, and continued where i left off, with a much cleaner save. This needs to stay.

Also, when all my magic schools get to one hundred, andi dont have all the perks for them, im not going to start using swords and Heavy armor, thats just silly. so the OI helps me get to where i need to be to have all the perks, if the game allowed me to continue leveling up just using magic after all schools were at 100, this would be no issue, but there is no experience in this game, it is all done by how much you use something.

I use it when I'm finished with a character just to mess around and become a god king. (ebony battle axe (870 dmg + 45 fire + 45 ice))
then once I killed everything I delete the character.

I say exploit for the simple fact that Bethesda has known about it since release (if they read these forums regularly) and they still haven't patched it. I'm an old school gamer though, so I don't consider it cheating unless you have to enter a "cheat code" haha

I believe that is what people call "grinding" to level up.

This poll and thread make no sense. It's an exploit and a cheat.

its a singleplayer game so i honestly dont care what it is odds are while your using the glitch exploit or whatever it is youl mess up your timing and it will disappear anyway .
