Basiaclly as the title says. I am level 43 atm and my smithing is 80, I was playing use the glitch to get smithing to 100, but also I could just pay the money for traing to 100 probably coast me all my money, atm i have 80k, I was aslo planing getting coj up few levels, but i think it probably is cheating so i probably won't do it but i do have a sperated save b4 i used it once.

Are you talking about using the book and bookcase trick to get all of your skills to 100 or are you just going to use the book as it was meant to be used in the game to raise skills in one area five levels?

Doesn't really matter, it's a single player game.
Do what you want.
Though IMO it's just a glitch.

I was planing using it to get smithing to 100, so i can make my dragon-scale armor and maybe get enchanting to 100 and just beat the game alrady, still far from it just got elder scroll, but my next playthough i plan on ether legit leveling up skills no exlporting etc and maybe being a true wichhunter no bound bow, does good deads no dedtric questing, or be a bad ass assassin primaary skills steath,archrey,one-hand,maybe bound bow if i do this way i won't have to levle enchanting/smithing. However atm I am kinda a witchhunter my main weapon is ofc the bow atm bound bow, i usually sneak kill most of the tiems i barly summon etc.

Which sounds more fun.

New Play Though Bad-Ass-Assasin
Current Playthugh - Kinda a wichhunter
New Play thought - True Wichunter, like heavy armor, mage hood, destraction, normal bow.

If i stick to my playthough atm I may just play legit and next one exlort my way back up.

Sorry for off-topick long wall of text.

P'S ~ I was also thinking just playing this playthough I have atm as a fun char, by exlroting etc and when dawnguard comes out for pc, sart a new playthough and beat the game then not sure what to do might make another poll/topic.

Usually half way through my game play I use it just to level up faster, because once you reach 50 lvling is very slow.

For roleplaying purposes levelling after 50 is very difficult. A warrior is going to have to start casting spells or a mage is going to have to start swinging two handed weapons to increase the skills that never get used by the character. This will be difficult because you will be at level 50 trying to use skills that you svck at against high level enemies. I think this is why they say the game has a soft cap of like 50.

It's obviously cheating. What does it matter what individual people class it as though ?

Well there's trainers u can get to follow and train those skilsl by 5 levels pre level and u can tkae u money back, all tho at 50 i would say its still hard to do that.

They say it has a soft cap because around there you don't encounter anything new, Daedric and Dragonbone/scale start dropping in random loot, you see the highest tier of enemies, etc. The only thing they do after that to increase difficulty is increase the health of the enemies according to some mathematical formula (and they say algebra has no real life application, tsk tsk)

But yeah, after I got my warriors 2 handed up to 100, I leveled very slowly, and once I got block and heavy armour to 100, I didn't level up at all. I had to grind 1 handed, archery, smithing and light armour, 4 skills I almost never use in order to get the achievement.

This is not about leveling to extreme levels. The OP is talking about leveling skills. All of my characters are specialized. The overall level is completely irrelevant to my gameplay. Someone that is actually RPing will not level past 55 or 60 anyway. I usually cap at around 48 or so.

----------------------------------------------------

Single player or not, you can cheat at Solitaire. It is exploiting the games mechanics to better the player in ways that was not intended to be used. The book was obviously not meant to be used over and over.

However, it doesn't affect anyone but you. So ask yourself..."Do I feel dirty?" (que Clint Eastwood)

The game is not fun when you do that, just play and you will level up.

It's a quick way to level skills up which I have found useful for some characters. I don't consider it anything more or less than that.

For me, cheating and exploiting are two totally different things.

Exploiting is taking something that is present in the game and using it, whether the devs wanted it or not. There is nothing wrong with this. If it was truly terrible thing, then the devs would have taken it out.

Cheating is using something external to gain something that is not available in game. Something that comes to mind is using an Action Replay for Pokemon to get infinite master balls. There is only one per game and, at least to my experience, no way to get more without cheating.

So exploiting a glitch isn't too bad. And in response to Indian Hero, grinding skills that you never use for perks in things that you do use is no fun either. Why should I level my one handed on my mage for that point in Master Destruction? I usually play until my skills that I use are 100 and then I use the Oghma. This way, I experience everything I planned my build for, but not lose anything in the process.

Well that what I was thinking my archery is already 100, conjuration is almost 60, smiting is 80 atm and it's getting hard to level to 100 w/o spending money, enchanting I find not to bad, alchemy is only 20-30 not 100% sure and other skills I barely use. I do play to do more playthoughs and do different things etc.

I leveled up my character to 81 grinding each skill up.
Do I claim everyone should do it? No. I like changing my character to accommodate for leveling a new skill.

I still think the Ogma book glitch is an exploit but I don't really care if other people choose to use it.

I think they patch it, because i used it then stored in bookshelf, then took it out and tried to re-do it nothing and when i try to red it from bookshelf it just disappears.

Say you can enchant a piece of armor with fortify heavy armor by 4 it now increases that bonus to 5.
