Okay Bethsidian, I am impressed.

So I am currently listening to the Bethesda Podcast, and I have to say, this preview of the new ambient track is really nice, it sounds serene with a somber feel to it, and some of it has a pumping up feel to it.

http://bethblog.com/podcast/

I was wondering how it'd sound, it has a similiar, and yet different feeling to it's sound.

Is this what we hear when we roam the wasteland?

I guess the music on the podcast
would be some of the background music we might hear
after turning off the radio

but I'm gonna need some "Hackin Pete" if I'm gonna play Fallout for more than 5 minutes :)

That and the sound of the sentry bot coming over the hill just as you run out of stim-packs.

Nice. The idea of the radio station without news should make the players who hated the repetitive updates happy.

I want a download of that song, I love ambient type music, and this sounds great, 100 times better then the music in Fallout 3.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, with the meat cleaver in F:NV, it'd be a crime for them to leave Butcher Pete Pt.2 out xD

I also found it amusing that Black Mountain Radio is a country station

Personally, New Vegas Radio is what I can't wait for.

As to the ambient track, if any of the tracks in the game are HALF as good as the one in the main game, I may be tempted to keep the radio off xDD

I enjoyed the Podcast even if they only talked about Fallout New Vegas for about 2 minutes of the whole thing, Really nice background music too can't wait to hear it while roaming the Mojave. :tops:

I like it. It sounds kind of diablo 2ish, which is a good thing.

I really must say that the beginning felt like something in Red Dead Redemption(they mentioned that in the podcast, too) then flourishes into the familiar trumpets that make the wasteland epic.

I assume it's actually the opening music, much like the opening for Fallout 3 at the title screen. The loud orchestral part after the Western opening sounded very similar to the FO3 opening.

Sounds good. Shame I turn off the ambient though, I don't like the early warning combat music system my character's have when it's on.

*Dun dun dun dun! Bwam dun dun dun!*

"Hmm, either a Yao Guai is fast approaching or..." *quick spin activate VATS* "Ah there it is..."

Dying Yao Guai: would have got away with it too, if it wasn't for that pesky music! :stare:

I'm really looking forward to the new music (Frank Sinatra!) but are we gonna have any old favorites from Fallout 3 return?

The Black Mountain Radio won't end after you do the quest with Raul, will it?
I'm a little disappointed with the stations to be honest, I was hoping for more stations and more variation. However, I've got to be happy with a country-westerny type of station, a Galaxy News type station and another station which is just pure music. I hope the radio station that has no host has different music to the one that has a host that does all the updates and stuff like Three Dog. It'd be stupid if the only difference between the two was that one had no host and the other did.

If destroying the black mountain Super Mutants get's rid of the country music station I might have a tough time not blowing them all to hell.

Not bad.

'Tis a shame I won't hear it though. I disable the ambient music.

I must be a rare breed of Tennessean that can't stand the music that hails from this area, but if Black Mountain is broadcasting country then I'm stocking up on mininukes...

Music is great. :)

Topic is silly, Bethesda is not Obsidian and Obsidian is not Bethesda, they are Very different companies that happen to be working together right now due to the unique nature of the situation. The music? By Inon Zhur and little bits of historic Mark Morgan - neither of which work for Bethesda or Obsidian, they are independent artists that get hired per-title. So why Bethsidian? to be funny? :shakehead:

I think the sound tracks we have heard are Awesome, and am very excited to have a mix of both artists - this is gonna be a good one!

Add one Kentuckian to that sentiment. Just gimme a Fat Man and point me at the transmitter.

Because they are working together on this? Really? You couldnt figure that one out for yourself.

Anywho, It will be interesting seeing those old F1 F2 tracks returning in key points. I sincerely hope the BoS bunker will use the Fallout theme for the BoS, it was very haunting.

@TestEcull- I'm from Tennessee too, and I can't STAND country music to be quite honest. *Pulls out the launch codes to Hercules-Bradley*, say goodbye Super Mutant hicks. :stare:
