Where can I find Enthir? Is he the one that bought that necklace from Osmund or whatever his name was?

17k Gold?

I'm at lvl 43, and if I had that kind of gold, I'd spend it all on training.

Right now I must have about little more than 1000...
Good idea, I was actually contemplating wether to purchase the house in solitude but I made do with the honeyside home in Riften. Move in their with a wife and spend gold on training/high level arrows and good ring/neck enchanted items.

A word of advice...don't ever buy more than one house. It's pretty much a waste of money. Just yesterday I moved from a house I had in the middle of a waterfall (the one near Darkwater Pass), to a nice castle a bit south of High Hrotgar, and I liked it so much I doubt I'll ever return to the first one. If only there was a mod that'd allow you to rent it to some NPC and gain some money from that....(mod idea?).

Now all I need is a nice Decorator Assistant mod and I'll be spending hours and hours placing furniture, flowers and plants all around  I already have some nice bonsais I want to put on my bedroom :D

How? Were you stealing a lot? I haven't made a thief character yet but I have never had more than 30k in gold when using my other characters.

For those who think money is easy in Skyrim, try this: play a pure mage who is "good" (i.e., doesn't loot, steal, etc.). You will rapidly be disabused of the notion that money is easy, believe me. Being a mage (an honest one, anyway) is enormously expensive and Beth did not create a genuine economic system (not that they ever do, but each game keeps getting worse as far as a believable economy is concerned).

Sure, if you play a warrior or stealth/thief/assassin, money will be easy, even if you buy equipment. Mages are extremely expensive due to being forced to buy spells, buy stuff to disenchant, buy ingredients, etc. These actions can be delayed or avoided altogether for warriors and thieves, but not mages.

not only mages with the smithing exploit fixed i am giving more money away on steel another higher metal ingots to get my smithing up, sure i can use a console command to cheat but that is just lame , but on average iwhen exploring just looting money jewels and gems i tend to gather about 1500 gold on a average day in game
