Doesn't it get boring though?
I mean, being able to do "everything" devalues wanting to create a new character as you've already experienced most of the games content. (non quest wise as those have multiple outcomes)
And being able to poke an enemy to insta death?

Doesn't sound very fun to me really.
Once you can do everything then it just becomes boring.
It's like in Sims 1 when I started a game and wanted to try the 'rosebud !;!;!;!;; cheat' for craploads of money.
Well, after I got a million simdolians and bought everything cool I was like "....So now what?"
Same thing in any FPS with an 'all weapons cheat', once you take that you have nothing new (equipment wise) to look forward to.

So becoming a master of all trades and a demi-god, why is it fun?
Cause you've reached the top and are as best as best can be?
Okay, now what?
What is your goal now that you're all knowing and all powerful?

I just don't understand the "fun" in being lvl 50 with max skills and god gear.

So it's optional now to go to 50 or 30 so I'm not going to whine anymore about that, I just want some insight of why people want to go to 50.

I dont mind "cheating" to get all weapons and the like. I just like killing everything and completing quests to understand the story :P
By the time i have reached level 50 i will have done everything in the game, and im pretty sure they said some creatures level with you.
After ive had my fun being a demi-god i will try a new charchater doing things differently.
I find it fun being able to kill everything in one hit, it feels good. it will get boring after a while, sure, but when it does just start fresh :)

"In Old World Blues, releasing in June, you will discover how some of the Mojave’s mutated monsters came to be when you unwittingly become a lab rat in a science experiment gone awry. You’ll need to scour the Pre-War research centers of the Big Empty in search of technology to turn the tables on your kidnappers or join forces with them against an even greater threat."

Become a lab rat? what does that mean? are we going to get some kind of power, or transform like in morrowind when you turn into a warewolf?

I'm going to guess that it is exactly what it says. You become a victim of a series of experiments in the Big Empty. In the original design documents for the Fallout 3 which was never made by Black Isles Studios, Chris Avellone conceptualized the Big MT Training Facility to be a place which was made up of a bunch of different research buildings, each with different puzzle situations which the player had to outsmart to progress. I believe that part of that design has definitely found its way into the Old World Blues scenario, and it is likely the player will have to figure out how to overcome various obstacles meant to test him.

Turn the tables on your kidnapper or join forces? Jeez, the courier isnt very good at not getting kidnapped is he? guess we wont be taking any equipment then.
Who are these kidnappers? Brotherhood? Enclave? but more important what is this "greater" threat? Aliens? A.I? House's brother (i can remember somebody saying he could be kept inside the big empty for some reason) ?

The Cipher tribe could be involved in the story, since they were mentioned in Dead Money. Other possibilities is the AI(s?) running the facility, or maybe even someone leading the Lobotomites to rebel against being experimented on previously.

Mutated monsters? Nightstalkers are new to the mojave it said in game, so i guess they are one of them? Cazadors? Could Deathclaws be there?
I'm sure we will have more awnsers and questions when HH comes out.

I'll say Bark Scorpions, Cazadors, Lakelurks, Nightstalkers, and Fire Ants are good candidates. Deathclaws are nothing new to the series, so there's no mystery there, unless they put in talking Deathclaws from Fallout 2. :)

They put alot of Van Buren in this game havent they.... Like a rat in a maze? I'm still hoping on the were wolves :P

Odysses or whatever its name is.....The A.I that was supposed to be in VB? Who is the Cipher tribe? I dont remember that

I wish there was some talking deathclaws, that sounds cool. There is a possibility that one of the talking males could of breeded with a lesser female creating smart deathclaws, but i think somebody said they would decrease in intelligence each generation

I hope the Ciphers are in it - they sound amazing! If you look on the Fallout Wiki there's a fair bit on info on them - they were meant to be in Van Buren

I don't think the AI is the same as what was in the Prison design of Van Buren. From the looks of the Qore preview, it's going to be female. I also realized that talking Deathclaws are unlikely because apparently Chris Avellone hates talking mutant animals. Maybe there'll be a reference for those with the Wild Wasteland trait, but I doubt there'll be one in the actual story based on his comments in the past.

Oooooh. If they implement elements of both the Twin Mothers and Ciphers in OWB, drinks are on me! :D

Except, not everyone uses mods nor want mods.

Absolutely. But my point was not that you can get a mod for something. The point was that because such mods were popular the feature itself is desireable and the opposite is not.

Nobody has made a mod to create a level cap but the mods that uncap levels are very popular. That indicates that people prefer to not have a level cap at all rather then an extra trait/perk that will cause a level cap. Why would you opt to stop being eligible for more skill increases and perks?

I think a better alternative would be to add a "Slow Learner" perk or increase the level caps. As they will be increasing the level caps with each dlc I don't know why anyone would want to shoot themselves in the foot by willfully taking a level cap of 30 when the DLCs will allow them to go to levels above 30.

BTW if you have a pc you really should try mods as some of them add extensive new content to the game and make it much more replayable.
