You could always take a break and play something else to clean your palette. Then come back and start a new character.

Play other games. I was just playing black ops zombies too much and neglecting all my other games, so I uninstalled it and started playing skyrim. I'll play zombies again when black ops 2 comes out. I'm not going to make skyrim my life.

Diablo 3 is coming out this week. That should be a good game to switch from skyrim for a month or two

What "other" games. Nothing compares to Skyrim.

Also, I am interested in knowing how you could feel a loss of interest just by owning "everything"?

Have you cleared every dungeon /fort /cave /keep?

Have you reached level 81? Have you collected every artifact item /rare item/ armor set?

Have you completed every quest?

Play minecraft? then you will get very bored within 15mins then you will realize how much you miss playing skyrim then you will go back to having fun!

Honestly, whenever I "lose' interest in a TES game, I move on with my life until out of the blue, while doing something random, I imagine myself FUS-RO-DA'ing people out of my way..

..and then, I go back to playing Skyrim.

You've overdone it and ruined it, just like I did for Morrowind, Oblivion and Gothic 2. I feel like playing them a lot but when I try it's just no good, I'm just too familiar with them. That's what you've done. You should have just played it once then shelved it for a few months, and only play it every couple of years or so. Then it would always be fresh.

Do a playthrough of Oblivion, then come back to Skyrim. It's like swimming a pool, then going to swim in the kiddy pool, then coming back.

(No offense to Oblivion, love the game, I just a prefer Skyrim a teency bit more.)

Whenever I get bored of Skyrim I blame the music lol (not that its bad bethesda ) and I listen to Baldur's gate soundtrack. To me out of any rpg baldur's gate has the best music there is and it fits in perfectly with how Skyrim plays. Then I dont get bored but my blood starts to rush everytime I get into combat. So much fun.

Yeah play something else for a bit. Most people will lose interest in a game and there's few (singleplayer) games that people will come back to and Skyrim is one of them. Take a break then come back with a fresh character and a specific RP/goal in mind and set about doing it.

Also becoming a vampire is a good way of keeping an old character fresh, adds a nice dynamic to things.

That game is terrible, they put no effort into it, so linear too.

I'd advise to play another game until Dawnguard releases on the XBox. At which point if you're on PC play around with mods until it ships to PC.

This is actually very effective.
