Would be really sweet to have in the game, for those water parts. Sure would beat swimming.

I'm sure there will be a body of water in the area.

Okay. So, Hoover dam and Lake Mead. Not enough to warrant a sub.

Fallout in Minnesota? (Lots of lakes.. I also happen to live there.. :P ). That may work. Or in actuality, somewhere on the coast.

I am not crazy about a sub. What I would like is for PA to be a contained environment. It's already sealed for bio, chem and nuclear warefare so why can't it keep out a little water? I would love to be able to walk along the bottom of Lake Mead in PA spearfishing giant leeches :D.

If nothing else, we know Hoover Dam is in, I'd imagine water shows up in other places as well, though I'm not sure if we'll see anything else as large as that.

Still, we already know drivable vehicles won't be in the game, and even if they were, I doubt there would be enough need to travel underwater to make a submarine very useful, if Obsidian were going to add vehicles, they'd want to start with something that can travel on land, not in water.

The geography changed a lot with the nuclear war. Who's to say there is no water?

And sea monsters would be nice, too.

It has been said that the body of water on the other side of hoover dam will be infesteed with monsters so you may be in luck

Where there's a dam, there's a river as well. The Colorado River will be in the game as well. No clue on the depth - if it's only as deep as the Potomac and Anacostia rivers from Fallout 3, then there's not much chance of watergoing vessels - though at least part of the Potomac was navigable by boat, or else the Duchess Gambit wouldn't have been able to make the trip.

Yeah there's not really enough water areas I don't think to make use of it... plus, where would you put it? Looks a bit heavy for one person to carry around the wasteland.

Since they already had a sub (albeit non-working) in Point Lookout, this seems unlikely.... Kinda falls into that: will there be any vehicles? question. The answer to that is always: no.
That being said, I thought the sub in PL would have made the COOLEST player house, but alas...

Power Armour should act like a Sub or a http://www.project610.com/files/nuitsuit2.jpg. I find it dumb in FO3 we can swim in PA. It should be to heavy but it keeps it's atmospher so you can walk on the bottom.

Would be awesome to walk along the bottom spearfishing Giant Leeches or fighting Mirelurks :D. Think of the things we could see. Sunken ships, Mobsters in cement shoes :fallout:

...that'd be one of the coolest Easter eggs ever. Just think, a mobster's corpse, dressed in a suit, standing upright in a pair of cement shoes under a lake or something.

Yes and maybe an underwater city like Rapture from Bioshock. It would fit the retro theme, coupled with 50's-era sea monster movies.

I would only want to go in a submarine if it was a yellow one. I'd actually live in it.

Would make an interesting easter egg if we could use PA as a means to walk along the bottom.
