I mainly said cooking because it's unique, like the Survival Skill in Fallout New Vegas. I loved that skill, it made me look for food other than Stimpaks. And in Skyrim I would like to build a Hunter type character that would cook and sell what they had killed and by doing so I could easily rely on my cooking skill, not potions.

I would perfer this too. I dont even use potions anymore for health. I just go into combat and hope I dont die. But I just feel like cooking is usless as it is once you reach a certain level because I dont like to stop in the middle of combat if I have low health then pound a potion as even worse down 10 soups. As you said about hunting, because there is no real good use for food the only reason I feel I have for hunting is to collect hide for smithing.
