Paarthurnax Is Awesome...

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 1:03 pm

Normally I hate long drawn out conversations in games. but when it came time to speak with Paarthurnax, I was blown away with how awesome this conversation was. The way Paarthurnax speaks just seems so weel thought out and how he speaks in the dragon tounge and in english, just purely awesome. maybe its just me but thats how i felt about it. Anyone else or is that just me?

Probably the best, most epic moment I've had in the game so far. Extremely well done.

I.... felt very sorry for him. He's ancient.... yet he sees his older brother still young, in full glory due to something that humans did. It made me extremely sad.

Yeah, he's awesome. I mean a dragon that will talk to you, and not try to kill you at the same time. Easily my favorite NPC.

YES, I love Paarthurnax. He's cool and wise, though I feel kind of bad that he just sits at the top of a mountain meditating all his life, which, can essentially never end, but hey to each his own I guess. I was pretty astounded when I first seen him, I almost attacked but waited and was surprised to see the name on him.

Yup, Paarthurnax seriously impressed me. Delphine and Esbern (even though I do like Esbern--I always have a soft spot for eccentric librarian types) can DIAF as far as I'm concerned. If I ever do the main quest again, this time I'll un-essential them and do it myself.

Could someone explain the ending of the game to me, there's one part I didn't get.
Spoiler
After the MQ I got the impression that Paarthurnax takes Alduin's place and becomes sort of the new leader of dragons. I thought that dragons follow the strongest dragon around. After the PC kills Alduin, wouldn't that make him their leader?

Isn't he immortal?

Not necessarily. Odahviing says there are a lot of dragons who disagree with Alduin, but a number of those also disagree with Paarthurnax as well.

Isn't he immortal?

"Immortal" does not imply "eternally unchanging".

One of my favorite character, I respect him because he spent thousand of years for redemption and overcome his own evil.

What he did is equal to more than 10 times of "life sentence" or "death sentence", I really don't understand why The Blades still want him to die.

Paarthunax is a good case of a character that you don't get to see everything about. He's hardly cool or benign. Even he knows that, else he wouldn't be on that mountain.

Parth is very cool and one of the very best surprises in the game for me.

He will never taste my blade.

when i first went up there, i think i already knew what he was, and i had a very closed mind on the matter-he must die.

alas, as we spoke, determined as i was to hate him, i just couldnt hes such an awsome and truthfull kinda dude, closet skyrim got to dumbledore!

so hen delphine got all batchy about him, it broke my chracters heart, he loved her you see, but i nthe end he couldnt do it, so you know what he did? he fus do rah'd her through the monastary.

in the end i only went for the greybeards over the blades because of parth, i dont actually like the greybeards, they just piss me off because they are SO patronizing and old....plus they lie to you....

It's moments like these in games like this that make you stop "playing" and immerse you so deep into the game that when you save and turn it off you as if it was actually you talking to him, at least, thats how i felt about it.
