Paladin Character

What would be the best armor combination for a Paladin-like character? Glass, Steel Plate and Dwarven kind of look paladin-ish, but if you know any others, post here please.

Personally I would go with a full steel plate suit, but that is just me.

My paladin is using steel plate if that helps any. But I'll be switching the the Dawnguard heavy armor when I get it.

steel plate is what i use. Some also reccomend ebony with a circlet since the helm makes it look a little too dark knight.

For that lavish look, I would go with either glass or Dwarven.

It's a warrior of light, that fights the darkness. Like a holy warrior.

I was also looking to recreate Chrysamere in Skyrim, but it's enchantments are not in the game

A paladin is a type of holy knight that hunts and kills demons. They uses "prayers" to kill demon and heal themselves. Really, they were just holy knights during the crusades. I think Charlemange is supposed to the first king to have a paladin force/group thing. I may be wrong on that though.

What is "paladin" exactly?

A Paladin, in typical fantasy, is a warrior aligned with a holy entity, who strives to uphold that dieties law, usually in the form of a knight in shining armor traveling the land in search of evil creatures to dispatch and dens of evil to topple.

Steel plate, Advanced steel plate, Or ebony. Daedric is too evil looking for a pally. Dragon is too out there as well. Orcish is warrior's armour, dwarven is just.... dwarven.

Depends what type of "Paladin" you want to roleplay as. The look and feel of the class is highly subjective.

When I picture a Paladin, I picture Sword/Shield, Heavy Armor, Restoration spells. Some people picture them using Maces, but that seems more like a Cleric to me, personally. It highly depends on how you view the class, there is no set in stone skill set they're required to use.

Also, I'd say any type of Steel would be good. Don't mess with Daedric Armor. Depending on your specific character's morals/views, he may or may not want to look into Meridia's quest for Dawnbreaker. Keep in mind that not ALL paladins are "good" per say. There can just as well be evil Paladins who worship the Daedra. It's all down to your roleplay and your image of your particular character.

The way I view my Paladin I'm currently playing is kind of like the Paladins from Final Fantasy. Most specifically, the ones from XI. Sword, Shield, Healing/Holy Magic, and generally a tank class.

My best advice to you is start with something basic, and figure out what you want to sculpt your Paladin into once Dawnguard comes out, as some things in that DLC may change how you want to play your Pally. :)

Dawnbreaker was my main goal with the character, actually. The thing that bothers me with that build is the switching between shield and magic, but I think it can work out fine, especially if I can get Spellbreaker (see, even the name fits with the sword). And I thought about doing this build now exactly because the Dawnguard is the first faction to actually fight dark/evil creatures.

Yes, this particular build worked better in Oblivion unfortunately. However, I've been playing my new Paladin character in Skyrim and thus far switching between Sword/Shield/Restoration hasn't been hard at all, it doesn't feel as fluent as it did in Oblivion but it still works out, despite what people say about it.

Also, I won't spoil anything but playing a Paladin has been very fun and rewarding in Dawnguard, so I'm sure you'll have fun. :) I'm personally waiting for the 26th for the patched/retail DLC to be released so I can officially start a fresh new character. (I've been using my current one for bug testing only)

Yeah my Paladin is more of an anti-hero than incorruptible holy knight. I wear enchanted Steel Plate with an Ebony helmet and use nothing but Restoration spells and it totally fits. From an aesthetic standpoint, pick something that makes you look valiant. Unless you're a Dark Paladin.

My weapons are also nothing but enchanted steel weapons. I stay away from darker colors. However my character's travels through Skyrim have led him to pick and choose his battles, and limited help from the Divines have forced him to receive help from the Daedra in the form of Mehrunes' Razor, the Ohgma Infinitum, Hircine's Ring, and Dawnbreaker. The way I see it my character willingly takes the darkness onto himself in order to fight the Darkness.

Now that's some role playing. lol just play around with different armors, and be excited because the new Dawnguard armor looks very paladin-ish.

My Nord paladin is wearing dwarven armor. It's shiny and heroic looking, which is important in paladins (for me). She was wearing steel plate, but I feel its underwhelming. Especially when paired with http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17096, dwarven wins out looks-wise. Chrysamere also grants a powerful healing spell while it's in your inventory, which is quite nice.

If they don't put better looking greatswords or claymores in Dawnguard like Chrysamere, I'm going to be upset. I use greatswords specifically because its more knightly.
