Patch Coming soon

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 5:52 pm

Your poll leaves out the most important glitch that needs to be fixed in this patch/update. On 360 we have a glitch that corrupts all our saves at the same time and erroneously tells us we are missing DLC. This is a game breaking glitch and stops us from even being able to experience all these other glitches, because we cannot continue playing.

Other way around. The game will black screen crash if he doesn't have the hat in his inventory. It's a scripting issue with a particular quest.

Actually in my case I have to wear that hat, and I always have to look for other ones to fix it with.

I got my first game freeze last night (I'm early in my 2nd playthrough). It just occured to me that I had more frequent game freezes on my FO3 GOY edition (I'm assuming that was completely patched).

I'm very optimitstic about well this game will run after a patch considering the minimal problems so far. :::fingers crossed::::

Hmmm. I'm on 360. Why does this stuff vary so much?

Only Obsidian/Bethesda knows. At least I hope they know, the patch was submitted for certification yesterday and they said that it does address the DLC glitch.

Considering it freezes every 15 min or so and is borderline unplayable because of that, I'll go with fixing the freezing problem...

I can't wait to make a Energy Weapon's character.
Lemme see if I heard this correctly, all energy weapons BYPASS DT? As in DT no longer stops a beam of plasma on my target?
If so... Laser RCW is gonna have a fun time.

Each type of Energy Weapon ammo will bypass SOME DT. Not necessarily all of it.

It really freezes every 15 minutes for you? I think your 360/PS3/PC which ever platform may have additional issues.

not Sawyer said you'll have an innate -DT effect like AP rounds. He didn't specify how much.

Very seldom freezes for me. More often than not when it crashes for me it simply ... vanishes. I'll be playing, then in the blink of an eye I'm staring at my desktop. No warning, no error message, nothing.

Once I installed Fallout: New Vegas on my Xbox 360 hard drive I stopped having problems altogether. However, I'd rather they got the job done right the first time.

They have no obligation to give you a quality product.

All I want for Christmas are my Energy Weapons re-balanced. :flamethrower:

That's all I really care about in this latest patch. Other than that, I'm having absolutely no problems with the game.

Welcome to the wonderful world of computer software- the only business on the planet where no, they are in fact not obligated to provide a quality product. They're barely required to make their product work at all, if that much. This goes along with your not owning any software, and lots of other fun EULA tricks. :D

Well to be fair, creating a quality product isn't a must in any business really. If you're dumb enough to make a crappy product however you better be prepared to suffer financially.

Dangerously faulty products on the other hand... You are required to make relatively safe products. If your product is cutting off limbs or exploding after getting rear-ended, you better be ready for a world of hurt.

I hear tell that the Sniper Rifle's getting nerfed in this patch. Anyone know if this has any truth to it...? If so, no patch for Wormy.

For those who are interested, the Sniper Rifle and Gobi Campaign Rifle are coming down into the realm of mortal beings with the upcoming patch. They are still highly effective in their intended roles, but are not the solution to all the world's problems.

I hear tell. Bit of a bummer. They ARE ridiculously overpowered, I freely admit, but I can't help getting a fair amount of amusemant by "popping" creatures in free aim snipes (yah, I always take the bloody mess perk).

Pretty sure there will be a mod on Nexus that reverses the changes within hours of the patch going live. An "I-Win" button is hard to put down after-all.

Personally I'm more interested in what they'll do to improve explosives and Energy Weapons. I've actually put my current E-W character on hold for it.
But I certainly hope for solutions to all major problems people are having.

I don't know where you live, but where live there are crappy quality non-software products and not all of it is priced appropriately. Heck I'd say they probably built industries around it.

It's getting a bit of a nerf, but I highly doubt it's suddenly turned into a crappy weapon.

It won't. PC version is distributed trough Steam, and console version trough PSN and XBox Live respectively.

In preparation i removed a balance changing mod to try out how the EWs and Explosives work with an official solution.

Anyone has an estimation how long it takes for a patch to be approved in PSN?
