Hopefully this will quiet some of the drama queens out there. :)

It was inevitable that a patch would come out. Just don't rush them. Let them get as much feedback as possible and put out a good patch, rather than one that only addresses a few minor bugs.

Holy crap at the video. If that had happened to me when I played the game, I would have screamed and immediately unplugged the computer. (I almost did just watching the video.)

It's only the first day after release and the game is working fine, for me, at least, and this is coming from a PS3 player.

I'm a huge Fallout f@nboy, but the glitches are a bit much. Ive only played around 12 hours of NV and have already had 2 game ending bugs. That's 2 pointless restarts. It was obvious in the Best Buy live show that the game had bugs. I wanted to give Obsidian the benefit of the doubt, but alas peoples fears were realized when the game started bugging up. With that said, I do enjoy the extra depth and balancing that NV brings to the table.

Well lets just hope whatever the patch does, it doesn't break anything new since we now don't even have the choice not to use it. My game works fine as is.

They didn't mention anything about which versions. Just PC patches or PC and consoles?

This actually gives the UK gamers something to be happy about. They don't have to have a ruined first experience..

Oh and..

That video was sooo friggin' funny! (and creepy at the same time)

It looks like the Courier took one Mentat too many..

I'm by no means excusing the bugs; and I understand as a consumer how frustrating they are. It makes you think "Well, this game isn't 100 hours. It's a 10 hour game that, due to bugs, you have to restart 10x over at" It'll be interesting to see how Obsidian handles post-sales support.

Yeah that vid was crazy, but I had a glitch were when I started, all npc voices didn't match their lip movement and sounds would come and go, only to be fixed by pausing the game. Needless to say I had to restart.

Game ending bugs? I haven't played more than a few hours, yet, but I'm dreading these bugs. Have companies heard of testing their products or do we get the honor of paying for games to do the testing for them? I would think that a product, especially such a major product as this, would work upon release.

I have yet to play the game. Waiting a week won't hurt (two if needs be).
(I'll test mods in the interim from the first save out of the door.)

It seems the game ending bugs usually pop up in the beginning of your journey fortunately, but be vigilant when entering casinos. Ive heard people are losing their guns and not being able to get them back.(Yes I know they take your guns when you go to a Casino)

That video gave me the best laughs in a few months, i'm serious. Video game glitches and all that are so fun compared to ie. normal jokes etc. Like in FO3, when i shot confessor cromwell lucas simms said 2 the best thing ever

"Mighty fine thing you did to this town"

"I breathe alot easier now knowing that thing is truly dead"

Ha ha! If that'd been my first experience, early on with the head spinning, I'd have taken that as an intended animation to show how disoriented the courier was... I'd believe right up until he stood up and hovered crouching like that. lol

Dear sweet God, that video.

Not since the infamous Red Dead Redemption Bird People has a bug been so mind-blowingly hilarious.

You can tell steam not to update a game automatically. Check the game's properties in the library.

If you're on a console... well... if you can't say nothin' nice, don't say nothin' at all.

There is a general rule when it comes to software development; for every 5 lines of code theres 1 bug....

now seriously, i couldn't fathom how many lines there are, especially when the game size extracted is aprox 10gig.

IMHO i'd rather have a game that works now with a few bugs, than have to wait another 6months+ for a fully tested, de-bugged version.

If they had turn round and said, hold up guys we're pushing back the date most players would have started trolling about how bad that is and how disappointed they were, and STILL would have complained.

Congrats on another good game bethsidion.

Reminds me of when I took the GOAT in F3 and everyone just sat there in silence. I didn't know whether it was part of the game or a bug, so i sat and waited for 10 minutes. That was the patched version...
