Pencils

Its funny because the Russians could have had their air filters clogged by the pencil lead fragments, pencil shavings, and eraser bits, and it could have very well killed the cosmonauts.

There risk takers. They just wanted to beat us.

And they lost, and $1.5 Million is a crazy small amount of money to the US government, that's less than a half of a penny from every tax payer, big whoop.

It is a research tool for astronauts to study space, kinda worth it, i wonder what kind of pencil sharpeners the Russians used, vacuum pencil sharpeners?

A vacuum pen isn't a bad idea when it comes to space exploraton, i think this is well before they had the digital programs like Word to record information.

I've already told you why a pencil is what shouldn't be used.

I always grab the pencils because like someone said, they're weightless and you can sell them. It's good at early levels anyway. :)

As my first mod for NV I'm totally making certain pencils into weapons.

I would like to see a completely overpowered one use poison melee weapon. It would require one hit to inject the poison and 12 seconds later your foe drops dead no matter who it is.

But no seriously I agree pencils r fucin useless, along with medical clipboards.

It's kind of funny how this thread turned into a discussion about the Astronaut Pen. If you didn't know my forum name is a character from Seinfeld. Who just so happens to have given Jerry a Astronaut Pen. So I will quote Jack Klompus himself and say. TAKE THE PEN!

HAHA! I just saw that episode yesterday! No kidding! Now I'm officially freaked out. Is this some kind of convergence of the Nexus of Sominus or something?

To get this thread back on topic. If they turned pencils into a weapon, it would be cool to enter a building and find a package full of unsharpened pencils. They could add a pencil sharpener, and turn unsharpened pencils into a crafting item. Using the pencil sharpener to sharpen your new weapons. The office type buildings could have packs of unsharpened pencils, in an office supply storage closet or a desk. The pencil sharpener could have a certain amount of pencils it will sharpen before the blade wears out, forcing you to look for or buy more sharpeners.

Couldn't they just use a ink pen? Man I should work for the government, I literally could have saved them millions of dollars with that idea.

How about this instead...
Your PC has a high charisma & speech, and has an evil rep... and gets an option in dialog (provided that they have a pencil handy), to demonstrate a magic trick ~to make the pencil disappear. :chaos:

First thing that came to mind when I saw this thread :celebration:

It would be awesome to be able to do that.

No, they couldn't because there is no gravity in space so the ink wouldn't fall down to the tip of the pen.
