What is with all the pencils laying around in this game? They are worthless, and useless but I have a suggestion for them. Let us stab someone with a pencil! A pencil can be a weapon, so I don't know why they can't be in this game. Let us pull out a pencil on NPCs, so I can stab them right in their eye, or just let us use them to stab NPCs in general.

now i got the urge to go and collect as many pencils as possible. so i can pile them in a corner of my safehouse. :drool:

Pretty sure they were intended to be ammo for Rock-it-launcher before it was cut.

Get the Willow companion mod, then you have somebody to give them to!

OP Just think these pencils might have real lead in them, and when you stab some the pencil will break off in them. They can get poison damage from it.

Thats what I would like to see. Obviously if you stab someone with a pencil it will basically be a one use weapon, because it would break. I do like the idea of the lead poisoning too, I hadn't thought of that originally. If they turn pencils into a weapon, they would most certainly have to add pens. Ink poisoning would be cool too, and the pens could be a 2 use weapon. Pens don't break as easy as pencils but they will still break. They could even add a unique pen, have one of those old quill pens, that are dipped into ink wells with the huge needles for the point.

How about this instead...
Your PC has a high charisma & speech, and has an evil rep... and gets an option in dialog (provided that they have a pencil handy), to demonstrate a magic trick ~to make the pencil disappear. :chaos:

Iv'e allways collected them, ever sience i saw my first pencil in Fallout 3 iv'e been busy stealing/looting them

Kind of weird really, how valueless the pencils are. Pens dry out, pencils get used up, and modern versions are very difficult to make without modern industry. Even back when a pencil was a crude and ugly thing (a fat square bar of) it was fairly expensive because it was either sawn graphite from the only place in the world that had the right quality of graphite, or a pressed clay/graphite ingot. What are your options? Nibbed pens and charcoal sticks? You could of course use a lead rod, but as somebody pointed out smearing lead all over everything isn't the best thing.

A good quality pencil, I think, I would be a fairly valuable thing in the wasteland since it doesn't dry up like ink or get clogged like a pen or shatter and make a mess like charcoal or poison you like lead.

well untill that happens we can always sell the hundreds of pencils for a cap that will add up into something right?
In fact I in game we could use it as currency. out of caps? just sell one of your hundreds of pencils to help even it out. Nothings better then a weightless item thats worth money :celebration:
