Perk Trees You Wish Existed

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 11:15 am

Sound like most would like to see a return of acrobatics. I was just thinking about what someone said and dragon breath shouts are pretty useless at higher levels and the timeout is way to long. Dragons dont have to wait like that and we absorb plenty of dragon souls. Another thing that makes dragon breath really strong is how long their blast last. They can goe for like 10 seconds of 50 point damage. The levels of our shout shouldnt increase our damage output directly, it should increase how long we breath on enemies. That would solve the problem of uselessness for sure.

and an "explorer" tree, to make traversing mountains not such a pain.

And each dragon soul we absorb could make our shouts more powerful and lower the cooldown

I really love your ideas OP. I think thats a good way for people to get that "racial feel" in the game, and lets each character become unique. great ideas man!

Unarmed, Unarmored, Spear, and Acrobatics. Oh, and maybe Mounted for the new mounted combat.

Given what they're doing with the vampire and werewolf trees, that really opens up a lot of possibilities. You could add a lot of non-level related skills and perk trees that really flesh your character out. They could easily add a cooking tree, gaining perks as you cook. Might actually make it useful.

Utility.
Cooking - Make better foods with more HP.
Brewing - Similar to cooking but for mana/stamina.

Combat.
Style - Better moves (rolls, feints and jumps etc).
Finesse - Knowing critical spots, weaknesses in armor etc for more damage, particularly helpful for daggers etc.
Brute force - Adding strength to help with heavy weapons like two handed swords and hammers etc. (This would be nice if the character visibly gained muscle mass too)

As well as thee additional trees, I would also like to see more variety in speechcraft. As well as Intimidate and Persuade, how about trick? Trick your opponent into revealing information by either allowing him to think you are part of the conspiracy or just want to help with it. Also, winding them up until they make a mistake and blab it out in anger or frustration before they realise they've been svckered, (my favorite trick in real life).

I would really love to see athletics and acrobatics again. I don't see why they couldn't combine both into one tree.

Unarmed would be great. The finishers are already there as well as one perk and an enchant. I really don't understand why they left it out to begin with.

Unarmed - Fun mechanic which grows useless beyond the first few levels.
Thievery ( combine pickpocket and lockpicking but improve the perks beyond the current lacklustre ones - wax key really... anybody use that?

Portal-crafting the perk stars would be aligned in a circle and the perks would let you create stronger portals and the ability to place them in one place and then go somewhere differnt and placing a portal there teleport back by going in the portal but untill you get the last perk the portals would be one use only and destroy themself after you go through .

"Custom"

A perk tree that can be duplicated and the duplicates used to mod in new skills. That's really all we need.

Athletics. (I guess similar to what people are saying for Agility/Acrobatics...)
- Movement speed +10% (3 tiers)
- Jump height +10% (2 tiers)
- Sprint speed +10% (2 tiers)
- Stamina diminishes 20% more slowly (3 tiers)
- Dodge ability (Adept level)
- Master level: Stamina does not diminish while sprinting

I also like the Shouts perk tree idea that has been mentioned.
- 25% bonus to offensive Shouts
- Shouts are amplified in power and/or duration by 15% (2 tiers)
- Time between shouts is reduced by 15% (3 tiers)
- Enemy shouts are 15% less effective (2 tiers)
- Shouting has a chance to make weaker opponents flee in fear
- Shouting has a chance to temporarily stun opponents
- Master level: Slow Time becomes Freeze Time while you are still able to move for a short time

And +1 to Unarmed/Unarmored.

It would be nice to see some miscellaneous perk "tree" where you have perks for running faster, jumping higher and the like.

How about useful skills like acrobatics, hand to hand, and others that aren't there any longer, instead of wild and zany ones like a vamp perk tree.
