A Pivotal Flaw in the Argument that Joining the Vampires is

Vampire's cannot go out in the day. Sure they are now not considered hostile to NPC's but their skills in the sun are harshly reduced. This means that the powers that come with being a Vampire lord come at a cost. Don't go outside til you block out the sun

Todd explained that there are perks that will improve a Vampire's functionality in sunlight. So good luck, frend.

Did you happen to watch the Dawnguard trailer? I think we have a plan for that issue.

Part of the plot is that Harkon wants to 'end the tyranny of the sun', so that vampires aren't harmed by it.

The sun penalty in Skyrim is a joke. At that point I don't think you can call them a vampire anymore.

No you can only be one.

Why would joining one side be "better" than joining the other? It all depends on how you're RPing your character.

You can't have both. The new vampire lord ability will "cure" you of the werewolf ability.

Ofcourse, my crossbow bolt will cure you of both.

At least they don't sparkle.

and we may or may not either put out or change the sun so it won't hurt you if you are a vampire, but of course we don't know that for sure

Unless they plan on making the sun penalty more deadly. I don't think vampires have anything to worry about.

What is the current sun penalty? I've never played a vampire.

Your health and stamina is "Reduced", but it doesn't actually lower and kill you. It just sets the max to a smaller number.

-15 health, magicka, and stamina, and they don't regenerate.

Your health, magicka, and stamina is reduced and do not regenerate. But if you have enchantments or perks(like I do), they can still regenerate.

I actually wanted Lords to have even harsher penalties in daylight... I find the regular vampire penalties to be pretty soft and too easy to circumvent (often without even intending to).
If vampires took constant fire damage in sunlight I'd love it tbh.

Basically the pros still outweigh the cons. :/

Expect a werewolf to admit that it is fun beating the tar out of both warring parties. :D

Oh really? That is pretty soft. I'd have expected -5 per second or something. Still, the 'NPCs will kill you at level 4!' thing sort of makes up for it.

I couldn't care less about who says what is better than something else. It's obviously nothing more than a matter of opinion. And mine is the only one that matters to me.

I really hope they do. I intend to play as a vamp myself, but it just seems a bit OP from where I'm standing.

From the gameplay clips, when the guy was a Vampire lord, Magicka seemed to regenerate and so did stamina. So I'm guessing it's gone if you take a perk or do a quest or something.
