Places to buy parts

NB. FutureShop and BestBuy are the same. I work at FS and on my paycheck it says BestBuy... so, draw your conclusions.

FutureShop is a seperate division.

Best Buy is the only place I order online.

Note:

Where is FutureShop?
I buy from them too.

I buy at a local store. First because their prices are the same or close to any Newegg equivalent, and second, I get the service after sale if needed. I often look at Newegg for descriptions and what not though, but the fact that they don't have a storehouse in Canada means I might have to pay taxes when it crosses the border, which I don't have to worry from the local store.

If you guys are Canadian, there are plenty of online vendors to shop from besides newegg.ca. Best Buy and FutureShop is two of the worst places.

Newegg, Amazon, Ebay, Superbiiz, whatever gives me the best price, including CA tax and usually I want 2-day shipping.

Newegg for the most part--they're far cheaper than the main local option (Best Buy) with a better selection, and usually offer good deals or rebates. Having to wait for it to ship out is a bummer, but what can you do?

If I just need a quick, tiny replacement part, like some cables or LEDs, then I'll go to the Radioshack or (urp) Best Buy in town.

If I need a part and it's something I can't easily fix myself, like when my laptop monitor went totally haywire, then I bring it into the local repair shop. They're not the cheapest option around (especially when you add in parts on top of labor), but I know the guy who runs the store and they do really good work. Plus they're less than two miles from my house. :P Much better than having to ship my computer out to who knows where and wait 2+ weeks for it to not get fixed properly. Locally + done right the first time = win.
