I have found that the snowy mountains in Idaho are very similar to mountains in Skyrim

Funny thread :-)

Haven't gotten to the point of picking plants up, but I do notice them a lot more now. Did have a dream the other night and I thought I was playing Skyrim, but was getting ticked off as I was doing things wrong (can't remember them now). Woke up in the morning and realized I never played at all.

I do think it would be cool if we lived in a world like Skyrim (like with the buildings, clothing) but combined with certain modern things. Like running water.

It just seems like to jarring of a difference sitting in front of a TV or monitor to walking outside with your dog to be believable.

In that case: safest thing to do is just keep playing, jarring is dangerous.

The two games that got me most like this were GTA, when I though any pedestrian dressed in black was a Los Santos cop, and kept checking out which cars were best to steal; and Ultima Online when I kept wanting to shoot birds with a bow and arrow walking round my neighborhood.

After playing Fallout 3 for so long a couple of Summers ago, I too was suffering from Post-(Insert Bethesda game here) Syndrome. I was walking in a parking lot, saw a large puddle and istantly walked around it, thinking it was irradiated. Then i realized what i had just done and broke down into tears.

When completing mundane tasks your mind can drift, mine drifted back to skyrim. It was around 1 am in the morning, i had been playing for around 16 hrs just moments earlier and it was dark and disorientating (didn't attempt to cast magelight). It is a true and accurate account of what happened. You're not getting into the spirit of the topic here.

16 hours straight? I shudder to think of how bad your burning up your pc/xbox/ps3

When you're playing MW3 and try and loot a chest....

When you're outside keeping an eye on the skies.

When you wonder if you will run into M'aiq.

Not to be antagonistic but I highly doubt that you subconsciously thought you were still playing. It just seems like to jarring of a difference sitting in front of a TV or monitor to walking outside with your dog to be believable. That being said I'm not a psychologist so I can't say for sure.

The confusion can be quite real. It's happened to me twice before. The first was after several hours playing Half-Life. I walked into my bathroom, saw the shadows cast by the little night light and started thinking, "hmm, somebody really cranked up the compiler precision on this map." Then I realized I was in my bathroom!

The second time was during my initial Oblivion addition. I did most of my playing on a fairly underpowered computer, since the good one was my borther's. Grass caused horrible lag and I usually kept it turned down or right off. So one day my friend asks me to come over. I walked to her place and on the way there was an empty lot full of tall grass. When I walked through it I got really excited and confused because the grass wasn't causing my vision to lag.

I find myself dreaming about Skyrim a lot. Im a very lucid dreamer and tend to have "out of body experiences" with dreams. So when you lucid dream you can control what is happening, its amazing what you can do with your sub-conscience.

Not all lucid dreams are controllable. Mine usually aren't. Oddly, my TES dreams usually aren't lucid. They do often involve subways, though. I've never figured out why. They also involve a confusion between playing a game on my PC and walking around inside it.

This hasn't happened to me with Skyrim but it did with Swtor, I woke up one morning and in my barely awake state I freaked out a bit when I couldn't summon my companion. :P

I must admit I've (nearly) done that, started around 7am in the morning and didn't really stop till about 9pm. Not quite 16 hours, but possibly too much time playing it. Least it was cloudy and raining (outside). Haven't played a game like that for... well... ages. When I used to, life was different, now I have to pay bills and work and do other stuff. So fitting in playing a game for so long is a bit of a challenge!

One thing Skyrim hasn't changed though - still love being on the bike. Some days I must admit there has been some awesome weather for hitting the road and I chose to play Skyrim instead.

I was playing all day every day for weeks straight when in early December I had to do a gig at a local pub. I was stood at the back of the room, on the second floor of the building as the gig progressed and from outside on another floor someone screamed my friend looked at me and said "What was that?" as he was going to open the door to find out what was going on when I blurted out "Is it a dragon?" and I swear for a fraction of a second I was serious! Everyone just looked at me and I had to explain I hadn't been getting out much! :)

Technically a lucid dream just means you know you are dreaming, but it's not always controllable. In fact sometimes I have controllable dreams where I don't realize I am dreaming, I don't know what the term for that is. I had a dream that I think was influenced by Skyrim a couple of nights ago, where some crazy Iraq vet slashed my throat, it was scary as ****.

I was in my car the other day, and saw the smog over my city's streets. I thought "What a crappy draw distance, I need to change my graphics."

As long as you don't see snow trolls coming at you it's all good.

I was dreaming about Skyrim in the first few days after release because i was playing for like 16h each day. The buzz never stopped in those few days.

I think he was trying to offer or suggest you get some help before you take a war axe to the hag next door:)

But getting back into the spirit of the thread;
I asked my wife one day, "B@@$% where's my money!" In the spirit of Skyrim.

Haven't had these moments with Skyrim yet. Though I have (from when I used to play EverQuest 2 all the time) thought 'Oooh! A quest!' every time I saw a missing pet sign on a pole.

I hate it when i hear about court cases were someone killed someone or was speeding because they thought they were playing a game still. You don't get the smells of out side, the feeling of that little stone under your shoe, it's just impossible to get the 2 confused.

But once i was talking to my friend, and his cat died recently :( and i said "At least he'll be in Sovengard..." i felt so stupid...

When I see a birds shadow fly over my head, I immediately think of a dragon encounter, and can hear the epic music playing for a moment.
