Playing after completion

Just do everything you wanted to before you complete your game, the game is going to give you fair warning beforehand. :tops:

it seems that your suggestion in just Inconceivable to some people.

Although most of the time in Sandbox RPG's I am bothered by it, I am glad there's a warning at this point.

Although I have to agree it takes power away from the ending if able to play after the ending, I do love to role-play the fact that the present danger is solved, and now it is time for me to find a place in the wasteland. Be it as a wanderer or just settle down and life my life out quietly.

Another thing is that I love my character and would hate to part with it after our epic journey.
In most games it is possible to replay with the same character, which eases the pain a little.

So yeah, I'm bothered with it, but frankly I do not care about it that much.

All the sidequests are supposed to affect the ending in some way. I don't understand why people want to rush the main quest and play after.

Then just delete your character after you complete the main quest. I don't see why we should be forced not to play after the end.

Then right back at you: If you so dislike having an ending, just continue playing, never crossing the "critical point" or doing the main quest! I don't see why things shouldn't end when you've already done just about everything there is to do in the game...

Unless you get a guide book or something you are likely going to miss quests or side quests that you might find through further exploration; in addition, just because someone might desire to play after completion does not mean they skipped quests or content. I often load up old save games of different character just to go wander the wastes and enjoy the ambiance even though i have completed everything possible.

I am sorry but we can not have that kind of logic because it makes sense.

Unless you get a guide book or something you are likely going to miss quests or side quests that you might find through further exploration; in addition,

nothing stops the player from doing that before the end

just because someone might desire to play after completion does not mean they skipped quests or content. I often load up old save games of different character just to go wander the wastes and enjoy the ambiance even though i have completed everything possible.

and nothing stops the player from wandering around aimlessly before the end

I'm fashionably late to the same thread again, and I will join the naysaying crowd.

Many of the reasons I would stat have been stated and is just beating an undead horse to death again.

Better meaningful story-

Slides are cooler and show more weight with your choices than a in game interpretation can do-

I like endings and a reason to roll credits-

I'm usually completed everything once I do the mainquest anyways-

They say you will get a nice confirmation if your getting near the end-

No stupid after game fetch quests-

You can do all that before the completion of the final quest its a simple concept they give you a point of no return and warning of the impending end, Do your exploring, quests, and whatever else before this point unless you are satisfied in what you've done so far. This will give Fallout New Vegas something that Fallout 3 lacked a true/complete ending that wasn't god awful. (Broken Steel just made everything you did in the Fallout 3 world for naught, it truly made everything you did throughout game seem rather useless along with making you some kind of invincible Wasteland God.) :tops:

I never said you could not, however; the game is always pushing to a resolution and scouring the wasteland for a hundred hours to be certain i haven't missed a single side quest is irritating. I said and recognize that you can load an old save ( i even said i am fond of doing that), but it would be nice to be view things after the "dust settles" so to speak.

yeah it bothers me as I like to continue playing things indefinately and I expect they'll release a DLC that will enable you play after the ending and I'll have to pay for that

Let's finish http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1115801-should-nv-have-an-ending/page__view__findpost__p__16417754 rendition of this thread and try not to make new ones until we have reached the post count in that one. Thanks.

Duplicate threads are messy and I'm not fond of messiness. :)
